    Abstract: Into a material based on a caoutchouc-type or caoutchouc-containing mixture for producing hard rubber, there is incorporated a pre-mix containing high-strength organic fibers and a liquid hardenable plastic material. The high-strength and temperature resistant material thus obtained is particularly suitable for the attenuation of noise in combustion engines when heavy-weight fillers are also added to such material. Engine components like, for example, valve covers, timing gear covers and oil pans can be manufactured from this material.

Each leg of the intermediate circumferential groove encloses, with the circumferential direction of the tire, an angle .alpha. of approximately 30.degree. to 50.degree., whereas the legs of the lateral circumferential grooves enclose, with the circumferential direction of the tire, an angle .beta. of approximately 55.degree. to 65.degree. and the lateral circumferential grooves are each wider than the intermediate circumferential groove.

    Abstract: An apparatus for the bellowless or bagless vulcanization of tire blanks comprising a tire vulcanization mold and a clamping mechanism for the tire bead provided for the mold. The clamping mechanism comprises the associated bead section of the vulcanization mold and a contact mechanism which can be moved towards such section in the axial direction and against the center of the mold. The contact mechanism comprises a ring formed of a number of segments, and such ring is provided at least at the region of the tire bead with a continuous layer of elastomeric material. According to a further improvement, the continuous layer possesses a lip member directed towards the tire bead.
