  • Publication number: 20100101976
Abstract: The present invention relates to various embodiments of a product container for holding and displaying consumer products. In one aspect of the present invention, the present product container comprises a product containing compartment and a base member that encloses the product containing compartment. The product container forms a tent-like shaped enclosure and is formed when a first container portion and a second container portion come into positional alignment in a closed or assembled configuration. The first and second container portions are affixed on the inner surface of the base member. The base member is then folded along fold lines and upper ends of the base member are then bonded or otherwise securely attached to each other such that the upper ends of the respective first and second container portions are mated with each other to form the product containing compartment.

  • Patent number: 6206558
Abstract: An extrusion system is provided with a screen changer between in-line screw sections. An in-line seal diverts high pressure, high temperature foamable material toward the screen changer. The seal may have reverse flights to provide a visco-dynamic seal. The screw sections and the seal may be located in a common barrel housing. The screw sections and the seal may be integrally rotated as a single in-line unit. A device including an injection valve may be attached to the upstream screw section to introduce a foaming agent into the material being extruded.

  • Patent number: 5795535
Abstract: A precut die apparatus arranged and adapted for use in a thermoform-trimming method and system to produce plastic molded articles, and to the method and system in which the apparatus is employed. The precut apparatus is positioned, in the method and system, between the form press and the trim station. The precut apparatus is arranged to precut, in a desired and selected manner, the thermoformed sheet material containing thermoformed articles therein, about the periphery of the thermoformed articles. The precut provides for a bridged and joining area of the sheet material to allow for slight movement and adjusting of the molded articles for precise alignment in the punch and die trim step of the thermoforming and trimming operation.

  • Patent number: 5749509
Abstract: A tool for driving a nail or other fastener is actuated by a caseless propellant charge formed of combustible material that is transported into a combustion chamber on a strip. The propellant charge is ignited by striking a sensitizer portion of the charge at an oblique angle. The ignition member intermixes the sensitizer material with an oxidizer layer of the surface of the propellant charge, resulting in combustion of the charge. When ignited, the propellant charge is compressingly interposed between an orifice plate and a movable portion of the combustion chamber. The orifice plate includes a pedestal with an annular compression surface that separates the surface of the ignition area from the remaining surfaces of the charge, insuring that ignition gases are forced through the charge. An annular C-shaped ring is interposed between the orifice plate and the movable portion of the combustion chamber.

  • Patent number: 5567369
Abstract: A method for the control of wall thickness of an extruded thermoplastic material. The method includes extruding a thermoplastic material from an extruder through a die gap formed between first and second die lips. One of the die lips has a plurality of separate sectors adjacent the die gap, with each sector having a circulating oil passageway therein. The circulating oil passageways are connected in a series along the die gap. The method includes circulating through each circulating oil passage, within each sector adjacent the die lip, a heat transfer oil from a common source at a selected heating or cooling temperature. The method includes controlling the rate of flow of said heat transfer oil in each sector by an adjustable flow control valve, in order to control the temperature of each sector, and thereby to adjust the viscosity of the thermoplastic material being extruded, and controlling the wall thickness of the extruded thermoplastic material.

  • Patent number: 5511715
Abstract: A power tool has a flywheel for driving a working member such as the driver of a fastener tool. A motor mounted at a rear end of a tool handle drives the flywheel mounted in a tool housing at the forward end of the handle. A cable is secured to a drum and to the working member. A clutch selectively couples the flywheel to the drum to wind up the cable and drive the working member forcefully. A return cable is wound on the driver drum against a spring bias to rewind the drum, unwind the cable and return the working member to its prior status when the clutch decouples the flywheel from the drum. When coupled to the drum, the motor speed and flywheel speed is reduced. An electronic control operates the motor to recapture the initial speed within 500 milliseconds of the speed reduction. The electronic control includes a phase-locked loop velocity control.

  • Patent number: 5495161
Abstract: A series universal AC/DC motor is controlled by switching the phase angle of an AC signal with a triac power switch in response to a motor control providing a phase-locked loop velocity control. A speed command circuit provides a reference frequency corresponding to a selected motor speed. The reference frequency is compared to a feedback frequency representing actual motor speed. An error signal representing the phase difference between the reference and feedback frequencies is compared to a ramp signal produced by the AC power source, and a resulting trigger pulse is used to control the triac power switch, thereby regulating the speed of the motor.
