This pneumoperitoneum gas heating and humidifying apparatus provided with an airline, a water conduit which is provided to at least a portion of the outer periphery of this airline, and water supply ports which are connected to the water conduit, wherein at least a portion of the wall of the airline facing the water conduit is formed of a water permeable membrane. The present invention further provides a pneumoperitoneum device in which a carbon dioxide gas cylinder, a gas flow regulator, and a trocar catheter are sequentially connected via piping.

The coupling sections comprise balls which are fixed at both ends of the ligament section, and holding body in which a holding space is formed within the inner section by means of cap section covering the holding body base section so as to hold the balls in a slidable manner. Attachment holes are formed in the bones of the joint, and the coupling sections are fixed by being screwed into the attachment holes. After transplantation of this ligament, there is no damage to the artificial ligament when the joint is extended, and long lasting use can be expected.

After filling the centrifuge chamber with blood and liquid filling, the processes of low speed drive, drive halt and high speed drive are sequentially carried out to rotating body 23.

The control unit comprises a judging element for judging whether counting condition is normal or not according to the TSR of output signals of the sensors. The apparatus further comprises an alarm element for producing alarm signals when the judging element judges the condition abnormal.

The first space receives the venous blood from the heat exchanger and the second space communicates with an oxygenating gas feed line so that the blood is oxygenated through the gas permeable membrane.

    Abstract: A blood oxygenator includes an elongated hollow housing having an elongated chamber therein, an elongated fiber assembly disposed within the chamber along an axis thereof and including a bundle of hollow fibers of a microporous membrane. Gas inlet and outlet members are connected respectively to the opposite ends of the housing and communicate respectively with the opposite ends of the hollow fibers. Blood inlet and outlet are formed on the housing and communicate with the chamber intermediate the opposite ends of the hollow fibers. The fiber assembly includes a plurality of layers of spirally-wound fiber bundles arranged one upon another. Each turn of one of each adjacent spirally-wound bundles is disposed in a plane intersecting the plane in which each turn of the other fiber bundle is disposed.

    Abstract: There is provided a blood pump apparatus which can supply a pulsating flow of the blood to a body of a patient at a desired rate of flow. R waves are detected from an output of an electrocardiograph to produce a timing signal which is used for controlling timing of intermittent actuation of a motor of a blood pump such as a roller-type pump. A rotation speed of the motor required to obtain the desired flow rate of the blood is automatically calculated in accordance with data inputted by an operator, the data including discharge of the pump per a predetermined revolution of the motor, delay time to be lapsed before an actuation of the motor, duration of the actuation of the motor, and amount of the blood to be fed per a unit period of time. The motor is then controlled to rotate at the calculated speed at the intervals synchronized with the detected R waves.

The first jet air injection tube is utilized for injecting a jet respiration gas to thereby transmitting high-frequency oscillations to the respiration or anesthetic gas. The second jet air injection tube is utilized for injecting a jet respiration gas toward outside of the communication tube from therewithin thereby to decrease the pressure in the communication tube and hence in the airways.
