Publication number: 20080109175Abstract: A method of monitoring the movement of fluid through a fluid distribution network is described. The introduction of an additive to fluid is controlled at a control point in a fluid distribution network, and a concentration pulse in a concentration of the additive in the fluid is generated. Amounts of the additive are measured as a function of time using a plurality of sensor units located at identified locations in the fluid distribution network over a geographic area, wherein the sensor units communicate with one or more communication networks. Measurement data corresponding to measured amounts of the additive is received from the sensor units with a computer system, and the measurement data is processed with the computer system to generate information indicative of movement of fluid in the fluid distribution network.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 30, 2007Publication date: May 8, 2008Applicant: Sensicore, Inc.Inventor: Uwe Michalak

Publication number: 20070219728Abstract: A service provider receives fluid test data generated from multiple different entities and permits authorized users affiliated with the different entities, as well as others, to visualize information associated with that data to via the Internet using graphical computer interfaces at respective computers. The fluid test data can be gathered using portable sensor units equipped with GPS and wireless communication to transmit the fluid test data and geographical information to the service provider.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 16, 2006Publication date: September 20, 2007Applicant: Sensicore, Inc.Inventors: Dimitris Papageorgiou, Uwe Michalak, Malcolm Kahn

Patent number: 7249000Abstract: Various sensor unit configurations are disclosed within the context of a fluid quality monitoring system. The distribution of sensor units can be accomplished using existing product distribution channels to sell, distribute and install sensor units so that a fluid distribution monitoring system can be established at relatively low cost, on a wider basis, and by locating sensor units at the most desirable location from problem detection standpoint, the location of the end user.Type: GrantFiled: May 7, 2004Date of Patent: July 24, 2007Assignee: Sensicore, Inc.Inventors: Malcolm R. Kahn, Piu Francis Man, Glenn Martin

Patent number: 7189314Abstract: A sensory apparatus including a substrate including a plurality of sensors to obtain an analyte profile, the sensors including an ion-selective sensor capable of measuring ion content and a chlorine sensor capable of measuring chlorine content, is disclosed. A method of generating an analyte profile, including measuring, directly or indirectly, properties including free chlorine concentration, pH, calcium ion concentration, carbonate ion concentration, and bicarbonate ion concentration, concurrently on a contiguous sample, is also disclosed.Type: GrantFiled: September 8, 2003Date of Patent: March 13, 2007Assignee: Sensicore, Inc.Inventors: Salvatore J. Pace, James H. Youngblood, III

Publication number: 20060277977Abstract: A multi-sensor apparatus for monitoring a fluid is described. The apparatus includes a plurality of sensors, wherein each sensor is configured to be exposed to a fluid, and includes at least one membrane that covers the plurality of sensors. A mechanical member or a heating element can be used to selectively expose a particular sensor to the fluid leaving another of the sensors unexposed to the fluid.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 23, 2006Publication date: December 14, 2006Applicant: Sensicore, Inc.Inventors: Malcolm Kahn, Piu Man, Glenn Martin

Publication number: 20060020427Abstract: A method of monitoring fluid quality is described. At least one of raw fluid quality data and processed fluid quality data is communicated from one or more portable sensor units configured for wireless communication to one or more wireless transceivers, the raw fluid quality data and processed fluid quality data having been generated based upon measurements made using the portable sensor unit(s) at different locations corresponding to different points of fluid delivery. The locations are controlled by separate entities. At least one of the raw fluid quality data and the processed fluid quality data is communicated from the wireless transceiver(s) to a data collection system. At least one of the raw fluid quality data, the processed fluid quality data, and fluid quality measures derived therefrom is communicated to additional entities other than the separate entities.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 9, 2005Publication date: January 26, 2006Applicant: Sensicore, Inc.Inventors: Malcolm Kahn, Uwe Michalak
