  • Patent number: 10527560
Abstract: A system and method for measuring a material includes at least one transmitter for transmitting a first signal and a second signal. A variable reflector reflects a portion of the first signal at a first reflecting property to produce a first reflected signal, the portion of the first signal having traveled through the material. The variable reflector also reflects a portion of the second signal at a second reflecting property to produce a second reflected signal, the portion of the second signal having traveled through the material. A receiver receives the first received signal and the second received signal, the first received signal includes the first reflected signal having traveled through the material and the second received signal includes the second reflected signal having traveled through the material. The first reflected signal and the second reflected signal providing an indication of at least one property of the material.

  • Patent number: 7467810
Abstract: An apparatus for transporting a sensor having a sensing surface at an operational distance from a target surface is disclosed. The apparatus includes an upper frame and spaced apart parallel front and rear struts. The upper ends of the struts are connected to the upper frame. The lower ends of the struts are connected to the sensor. The front and rear struts pivot about the upper frame to move the sensor in response to an obstacle on the target surface, The sensor pivots about the lower ends of the front and rear struts to maintain the sensing surface in substantially parallel orientation to the target surface. The angle between the sensing surface and the front and rear struts is less than 90°.

  • Patent number: 7167124
Abstract: A system and method for measuring ground penetrating radar data is described which includes controlling the timing for generating stimulus electromagnetic waves and the sampling rate of reflected electromagnetic waves in response to the stimulus electromagnetic waves. Generally, the timing is adjusted for spatially over-sampling the ground penetrating radar data. The speed of the system can also be adjusted based on the measured data.

  • Patent number: 6501413
Abstract: A multi-channel digital equivalent time sampling (MDETS) device having a programmable logic control that can select, delay or create various triggered signals. The MDETS can function independently or with multiple devices allowing for synchronized acquisition of data. The close proximity of MDETS device to a transmitter and receiver allows for the short time delay for acquiring the data.
