Abstract: A method or system for classifying an activity of a user on the basis of measurements performed by a plurality of sensors is comprised in a mobile device associated with the user. The method comprises: obtaining a set of measurements from the plurality of sensors; iteratively deriving user events from the set of measurements, the user events comprising time data, user location data, and user movement data; analyzing the iteratively derived user events to obtain predictions regarding the user events; analyzing the iteratively derived user events and the predictions to obtain circumstances of regarding the user events; and outputting the circumstances to an information system.
