  • Patent number: 5810987
Abstract: A method for the electrophoretic dip coating of small parts and bulk goods aving an electrically conducting surface wherein the items to be coated are placed in a single layer onto a support which may be electrically conducting or nonconducting. During immersion, the surface contact locations are changed between the items to be coated themselves and the surface contact locations between the items and the support.

  • Patent number: 5671607
Abstract: A compression refrigeration machine is provided having ammonia as a refriant and including a condenser, a throttle device, an evaporator device, and a motor-compressor unit. The motor compressor unit includes an electric motor that drives a compressor and may be arranged in a semi-hermetic or hermetic encapsulation. In an hermetic encapsulation, the electric motor is located outside a suction gas stream flowing into the compressor and outside a discharge gas stream exiting from the compressor so that the electric motor is only exposed to an essentially static ammonia atmosphere. The motor-compressor unit and the semi-hermetic encapsulation are composed of materials stable or resistant to ammonia.

  • Patent number: 4310395
Abstract: The present invention provides a method for electrolytically recovering or inning pure metallic nickel from nickel sulfate-containing solution using an electrolysis cell having nickel electrodes. The cell has at least one anode space, at least one cathode space and a diaphragm disposed therebetween. Certain of the nickel electrodes are employed alternatively as anode electrodes and as cathode electrodes in the anode and cathode spaces, respectively, while maintaining other electrodes as fixed cathode electrodes in the cathode spaces for electro-winning of nickel. Nickel regenerated using the process of the present invention may be employed as anode material in nickel electroplating processes.

  • Patent number: 4308301
Abstract: A process for metal-coating plastic surfaces by chemical pretreatment with n acid pickling agent whereby to prepare the plastic surfaces for the subsequent superposition thereon of a metal layer is described. The plastic surfaces to be coated are chemically pretreated by means of an acid pickling agent in the gaseous phase, the chemical pretreatment is then terminated by chemical reaction of the said pickling agent with another material in the gaseous phase to form gaseous reaction products. If desired, the chemically pretreated plastic surface may then be treated with an aldehyde in solution. The treated surface may then be metal coated, if desired employing a galvanic process without external current.
