  • Patent number: 10485348
Abstract: A chair including a support, a backrest with a backrest frame hingedly connected to the support, a seat bottom with a seat frame hingedly connected to the backrest and a bracket extending rearward from the seat frame, a linkage arm with a proximal end hingedly connected to the support at a fixed vertical position and a distal end hingedly connected to the bracket, and a return mechanism. Rotation of the seat bottom from a closed position to an open position causes, by way of interaction between the linkage arm and the bracket, the seat bottom to move forward from the support and the backrest to rotate about the support and recline.

  • Patent number: 9295334
Abstract: An improved seating hinge includes a pin having a race member at a distal end and a shaft at a proximal end, and a bracket having a socket, wherein the pin is inserted into the bracket so that the race member is in contact with the socket, the shaft protrudes from the socket, and the pin is rotatable within the socket. The seating hinge further includes a telescoping connection that allows for varying seat widths and placements. Adjustment and/or alignment of the seat bottom can be performed without requiring support leg to be moved or replaced. The hinge can accommodate an auditorium having both straight sections of seating and curved sections of seating with varying degrees of curvature, where some support legs are mounted parallel and others non-parallel relative to each other. The hinge design can withstand weather and elements such as those present in many outdoor locations.

  • Patent number: 8820827
Abstract: A removable seating system includes a mounting receptacle, a seat, and a retractable coupling device coupled to the seat. The retractable coupling device couples the seat to the mounting receptacle when inserted into the mounting receptacle. The retractable coupling device disengages the seat from the mounting receptacle when retracted from the mounting receptacle. The retractable coupling device retracts into the seat when the seat is disengaged from the mounting receptacle. The system further includes a mounting face in the mounting receptacle and a mounting slot in the mounting face. The retractable coupling device includes a rotating bolt that couples the seat to the mounting receptacle by entering the mounting slot, rotating, and engaging the underside of the mounting face. The rotating bolt disengages the seat from the mounting receptacle by rotating so as to become aligned with the mounting slot and retracting from the mounting slot and into the seat.

  • Patent number: 8075055
Abstract: A pew style seating assembly includes a plurality of seat members, each of which is pivotable, independently from all others of the plurality of seat members, between an occupied position and an unoccupied position. Each seat member, when in the occupied position, defines a seating area above a top surface thereof, with the seating areas defined by the plurality of seat members defining a continuous and uninterrupted pew seating area spanning the plurality of seat members. The seating assembly further includes a single, continuous seat back attached to each of the seat support members and spanning the entire pew seating area, such that the plurality of seat members are associated with the single, continuous seat back.
