  • Patent number: 10365136
Abstract: An opto-acoustic flowmeter can include an optical waveguide and an emitter that emits acoustic energy in response to flow, the acoustic energy comprising a flow rate dependent parameter. A flow rate measuring method can include configuring an emitter so that flow into or out of a tubular string causes the emitter to emit acoustic energy, arranging an optical line so that the acoustic energy is received by an optical waveguide of the optical line, and detecting optical scatter in the optical waveguide. A well system can include multiple locations where fluid is flowed between an earth formation and a tubular string in a wellbore, multiple emitters that produce an acoustic vibration corresponding to a flow rate of the fluid, an optical line that receives the vibrations, and an optical interrogator that detects optical scatter in an optical waveguide of the line, the scatter being indicative of the vibrations.

  • Patent number: 10365392
Abstract: Various resistivity logging tools, systems, and methods are disclosed. At least some system embodiments include a logging tool and at least one processor. The logging tool provides transmitter-receiver coupling measurements that include at least direct coupling along the longitudinal tool axis (Czz), direct coupling along the perpendicular axis (Cxx or Cyy), and cross coupling along the longitudinal and perpendicular axes (Cxz, Cyz, Czx, or Czy). The processor performs a multi-step inversion of said transmitter-receiver coupling measurements to obtain values for model parameters. Based at least in part on the model parameters, the processor determines borehole corrections for the transmitter-receiver coupling measurements and may further provide one or more logs derived from the borehole corrected transmitter-receiver coupling measurements.

  • Patent number: 10366461
Abstract: Manual human processing of documents often generates results that are subjective and include human-error. The cost and relatively slow speed of manual, human analysis makes it effectively impossible or impracticable to perform document analysis at the scale, speed, and cost desired in many industries. Accordingly, it may be advantageous to employ objective, accurate rule-based techniques to evaluate and process documents. This application discloses data processing equipment and methods specially adapted for a specific application: analysis of the breadth of documents. The processing may include context-dependent pre-processing of documents and sub-portions of the documents. The sub-portions may be analyzed based on word count and commonality of words in the respective sub-portions. The equipment and methods disclosed herein improve upon other automated techniques to provide document processing by achieving a result that quantitatively improves upon manual, human processing.

  • Patent number: 10367865
Abstract: An encodingless transmuxer produces a manifest file and segments for streaming media content over different streaming protocols without encoding or otherwise modifying the binary data from the original encoding of the media content file. The transmuxer detects key frame positions from the media content file metadata. The transmuxer maps segment start times to a subset of the identified key frames based on a segment duration parameter. The transmuxer generates a manifest file listing the segments with each segment identifier comprising a timestamp specifying a time offset for the key frame at which the segment commences. In response to a request for a particular segment, the transmuxer or a streaming server copies or reuses from the original media content file, the binary data for the key frame that commences the particular segment up to the bit immediately before the start of the next segment key frame.

  • Patent number: 10365395
Abstract: At least some disclosed resistivity logging system embodiments include a logging tool and a processing system. The logging tool provides multi-component transmitter-receiver coupling measurements to the processing system. The processing system derives from the measurements initial formation parameter estimates based on a first formation model such as a radially-symmetric formation model having anisotropic, but otherwise homogenous dipping formation. The processing system further derives in one or more selected regions a second set of formation parameter estimates based on a second formation model such as a model having a dipping borehole through a series of horizontal formation layers, each having a vertical transverse isotropy.

  • Patent number: 10364649
Abstract: A system and method for fracturing multiple zones along a length of a wellbore during a single run are provided. A single magnetic shifter device may be lowered on coiled tubing to shift open multiple sleeve assemblies set along the wellbore to expose different fracture zones for desired fracturing treatments. The sleeve assemblies may each include a magnetic sensing system designed to detect a magnetic field output from the shifter device. The magnetic sensing system may output a control signal to an electro-hydraulic lock to collapse a baffle component of the sleeve assembly. Once the baffle is collapsed, an isolation component of the shifter device may engage the collapsed baffle to form a plug through the wellbore. Pressure applied from the surface may push the baffle and a sliding sleeve of the sleeve assembly downward, thereby exposing fracturing ports through the casing of the wellbore.
