Abstract: A buoy for recording seismic signals while underwater. The buoy includes a body; a buoyancy system configured to control a buoyancy of the body to descend to a predetermined depth (H1); a propulsion system configured to actively adjust a position of the body at a given position (X, Y); a seismic sensor located on the body and configured to record the seismic signals; and a control device configured to control the buoyancy system to maintain the body substantially at the predetermined depth (H1) and to control the propulsion system to maintain the body substantially at the given position (X, Y) while the buoy records seismic data, and also to instruct the seismic sensor when to record seismic signals.
Abstract: The present invention provides a rapid rig-up and rig-down pipe stand building and racking system that is capable of being retrofit to an existing drilling rig. In particular, the invention relates to a horizontal to vertical pipe delivery machine that is mountable to a drilling rig. The horizontal to vertical machine delivers sections of pipe to a pair of drilling rig mounted elevators. The elevators receive and vertically translate the sections of pipe. A power tong may be used to make connections between the sections of pipe to form a pipe stand, and may also break the connections of the pipe stand. A drill floor mounted pipe racking system receives the connected drill pipe from the elevators. A pipe racking system that may be used in conjunction with the stand building system is capable of controlled, rapid, and precise movement of multiple connected sections of pipe.
Abstract: A method to reduce the amount of gelling agent utilized in hydraulic fracturing fluids in the presence of a relatively high concentration of brine.
Abstract: A data lineage tracking system may include a memory storing a module comprising machine readable instructions to obtain trace log entries representing an interaction with, a manipulation of, and/or a creation of a data value. The data lineage tracking system may further include machine readable instructions to select the trace log entries that are associated with commands performed by an application, cluster similar trace log entries from the selected trace log entries, and analyze mappings between the clustered trace log entries to determine data lineage flow associated with the data value.

Abstract: A threaded union for tubulars used for high-pressure fluid applications includes a unitary nut supported by at least two nut retainer segments received under a top wall of the nut in an annular segment retainer groove in one of the tubulars. The nut retainer segments fully support the unitary nut. The nut retainer segments are held in the annular segment retainer groove by securing the nut retainer segments in the segment retainer groove.
Abstract: An apparatus and method for tracking, scheduling, and reminding about maintenance status are provided. The apparatus connects to a vehicle and retrieves state information from the vehicle. The apparatus analyzes at least the state information to determine a maintenance status of the system, and creates an alert based on at least the maintenance status of the vehicle. The alert is provided to a user, and the user can instruct the apparatus to respond to the maintenance status through selection of options provided by the alert. Through the options, the apparatus may provide the user with options for maintenance service, schedule the service, and remind the user of the scheduled service.

Abstract: Seating furniture in the form of a bench having a main frame (10) and first, a sitting surface (11) and second, a backrest (12) which are each supported by the main frame, in which seating furniture at least a sitting surface section (13) and a backrest section (14) are formed separately from the subregions (15, 16) of the sitting surface (11) and backrest (12) of the seating furniture situated next to the sections, and the sitting surface section (13) which is pivotably connected to the backrest section (14) can be lifted off from the main frame (10) and, by pivoting the backrest section (14), which is connected to the main frame (10) at its upper free end by means of a hinge (17), can be lifted out together with the backrest section (14) in a horizontal section (14) in a horizontal position at a distance from the sitting surface (11) of the seating furniture, forming an elongate arrangement of the backrest section (14) and sitting surface section (13), wherein a moveable support (19) which can be deployed a
Abstract: An automatic machine for dispensing beverages, in particular coffee-based beverages, comprising forced air means for regulating the temperature of at least one brewing unit.
Abstract: Computer implemented methods of, and apparatuses for, managing patient care through an emergency department of a hospital. Healthcare practitioners are prompted through a computer for a medical diagnosis from a list of diagnoses, for patient conditions pertinent to the diagnosis, and for treatment orders, which can include a medical or medication prescription. The system determines whether sufficient patient conditions have been evaluated to support third party payment for admitting the patient to the hospital if so ordered, automatically contacts an in-patient care practitioner at the hospital, and initiates a process to find a bed for the patient. The practitioner is prompted to issue treatment orders and medication dosages can be automatically checked. Data entered by different practitioners can be compared and shared. Faster and more consistent patient care can be achieved and healthcare costs that are not reimbursed can be minimized.
Abstract: Systems and methods described herein may comprise RFID data acquisition technology which may be embedded in a fob or tag for use in completing financial transactions. This fob may a self-contained device which includes a transponder and which may be contained on any portable form factor and may comprise flexible circuitry. For instance, the fob may be housed in a wearable transaction instrument, such as a bracelet, ring, wrist band, retractable id, necklace, jewelry charm, lanyard, key ring fob, watch, band, pin, and/or the like. The fob is configured to be used in concert with an RFID reader device.
