Abstract: Systems, methods and devices for dielectric borehole imagery are disclosed. Systems may include one or more transmitters that induce, at azimuthally-spaced positions on a borehole wall, a plurality of fields having components in non-coplanar directions within a formation; one or more directionally sensitive receivers that sense the components caused by each of the one or more transmitters; and a controller that processes signals received from the one or more directionally sensitive inductive sensors to provide a set of measurements representative of dielectric parameters at two or more azimuthal positions within the borehole.
Abstract: Methods including providing a treatment fluid comprising a base fluid, a wettability altering surfactant, and a chelating agent, wherein the treatment fluid has a pH of at least about 5; introducing the treatment fluid into a subterranean formation; altering a wettability of the subterranean formation from oil-wet to either mixed-wet or water-wet with the wettability altering surfactant; and complexing metal ions in the subterranean formation with the chelating agent.

Abstract: Apparatus for sealing the gap between adjacent interconnecting mats in a reusable load-supporting surface deployed on the ground includes a seal member. The seal member includes an elongated main body and an elongated planar tail extending outwardly therefrom. The main body is positionable in the gap and the tail is configured to extend into at least a portion of the interface formed between upper and lower lips of the adjacent mats.
Abstract: A buddy list is used to provide a service to a user if the service is blocked. A user may store multiple profiles in a user device, and each profile identifies a different buddy list. If the user's service is blocked, the user device is configured to retrieve a profile and send a request to use a buddy list from the profile to utilize the service. If a request is rejected, another profile is tried until the request is approved or until all the profiles have been exhausted.
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a carrier that is designed to hold a plurality of beverages, such as but not limited to cans or bottles. In some embodiments, the carrier is designed to also serve as a cooler. For example, the cans or bottles may be loaded into the carrier when the top is opened. Due to the shape and/or configuration of the carrier, the carrier has ample room for not only the beverages, but also ice when in the opened position. As such, the carrier is configured to be a one-time or multi-use cooler.

Abstract: A system, method, and computer-readable medium for challenge-response authentication are provided. A plurality of codes is received over a communication network based on input provided by way of a user interface displaying a plurality of images. An alphanumeric string is generated based on the received plurality of codes and based on a table that associates each one of the plurality of codes with a respective one of the plurality of images and with a respective one of a plurality of alphanumeric characters. A determination is made as to whether to grant authorization based on whether the generated alphanumeric string matches an alphanumeric user identifier stored in a memory device in association with a user.

Abstract: A language interpretation system receives a request for an interpretation of a voice communication between a first language and a second language. Further, the language interpretation system provides the request to a human language interpreter. In addition, a machine language interpreter translates the voice communication into a set of text data. The text data is sent to a display device that displays the text during a human language interpretation performed by the human language interpreter.

Abstract: According to an embodiment, a method of storing or transporting a sample comprises: inserting a sample container into a holding device, wherein the sample container contains the sample, wherein the sample container does not meet United States transportation regulations, wherein the holding device meets or exceeds United States transportation regulations, and wherein the holding device comprises a chamber and an opening; and storing or transporting the holding device. According to another embodiment, a holding device for containing a container comprises: a chamber; and an opening, wherein the holding device meets or exceeds United States transportation regulations, wherein the container contains a sample, and wherein United States regulations require the sample to be stored or transported according to the United States transportation regulations.
Abstract: A language interpretation system receives a request for an interpretation of a voice communication between a first language and a second language. Further, the language interpretation system provides the request to a machine language interpreter. In addition, the machine language interpreter provides live language interpretation of the voice communication. The live language interpretation of the voice communication is halted by the machine language interpreter in real time during the live language interpretation based upon a criteria being met. Further, the voice communication is transitioned to a human language interpreter to resume the live language interpretation of the voice communication after the machine language interpreter is halted.
Abstract: In some aspects, techniques and systems for simulating well system fluid flow are described. Multiple subsystem models each include fluid flow variables and represent well system fluid dynamics associated with a sub-region in a subterranean region. The subsystem models are connected by one or more junction models. The junction models represent interactions among the subsystem models. For each of the subsystem models, an elimination of internal variables of the subsystem model is performed to express the internal variables in terms of junction variables of the junction models. The junction variables are solved based on the junction models. The internal variables of the subsystem model are solved based on the solved junction variables.

Abstract: The subject matter described herein relates to a system and a method for generation of energy consumption profiles corresponding to a plurality of computing systems. For each of the plurality of the computing systems, a plurality of consumption parameters from at least one measurement device is received. The consumption parameters include a processor utilization parameter and an energy consumption parameter. Further, a normalization factor corresponding to each of the plurality of the computing systems is identified. Based on the normalization factor, the processor utilization parameter is normalized. Based on the normalized processor utilization parameter and the energy consumption parameter, the energy consumption profile is generated. The energy consumption profile is indicative of energy efficiency of the plurality of the computing systems.
