Patent number: 8135658Abstract: Decision software implements a decision process that handles and decides a request from a requestor in a generally automated manner. The decision software denies the request according to a predefined standard. Information relating to the request and the denial decision is stored as a quote, and it is determined that further consideration of the denial decision by a human reviewer of the organization is desired. The human reviewer is contacted and retrieves the stored quote by way of an actuated interface that presents the quote as a focused screen including information from the quote and a determination entry device. The human interviewer determines based at least in part on the focused screen whether to over-ride the denial decision and enters such determination into the determination entry device. The entered determination is stored with the stored quote and the request proceeds in accordance with the stored determination.Type: GrantFiled: April 22, 2008Date of Patent: March 13, 2012Assignee: United Services Automobile Association (USAA)Inventors: Christopher J. Patent number: 8134477Abstract: A logging tool has three seismic sensors that generate seismic signals in response to microseismic events and can be a Triaxial Borehole Seismic system. The tool also has additional sensors, such as a wireline tension measuring circuit, a gamma ray sensor, an inclinometer, and a gyroscope. The tool deploys downhole with a multi-conductor (i.e., seven conductor) wireline. For the seismic signals, a telemetry unit on the tool derives frequency-modulated carrier signals from the seismic signals, and a transformer of the unit transmits these carrier signals to surface acquisition equipment using cross-wired pairs of conductors in the wireline connected to the transformer's terminals. For the signals from the other sensors, the telemetry unit derives analog carrier signals from their signals and transmits the analog carrier signals to the surface acquisition equipment using remaining conductors of the wireline.Type: GrantFiled: March 18, 2009Date of Patent: March 13, 2012Assignee: Precision Energy Services, Inc.Inventor: Winyu Vongstapanalert

Patent number: 8135643Abstract: Apparatuses, computer media, and methods for analyzing credit and tax form data and determining a collections treatment type to collect revenue. A collections model is constructed to determine a collections score that is based on raw credit data and tax form data and is indicative of a debtor's propensity to pay an owed amount. The collections model includes score bands, each score band being associated with a range of credit scores. A collections score is determined from a scoring expression that is associated with a score band and that typically includes a subset of available raw credit data and tax form data. A collections treatment type is determined from a collections score. Each treatment type corresponds to a treatment action that is directed to the debtor. A collections model is constructed from historical tax data, in which score bands and scoring expressions are constructed for the collections model.Type: GrantFiled: October 8, 2010Date of Patent: March 13, 2012Assignee: Accenture Global Services LimitedInventor: Inder Preet Singh

Patent number: 8134290Abstract: A new Rhenium alloy usable for improving the performance of emission filaments used in mass spectrometers or other similar scientific instruments, which is made by adding low level concentrations of Yttrium Oxide to Rhenium of less than 10%. This new alloy has demonstrated superior performance characteristics compared to pure Rhenium for this purpose. Filaments made from the Yttria/Rhenium alloy exhibit the same voltage, current and emission properties as Rhenium but have the added advantage of greatly decreasing warping during use. The Rhenium alloy filaments are usable with various shapes and configurations including straight filaments, multiple coiled filaments and pin shaped filaments. Electron microscopy and microscopy studies verify that the Yttria/Rhenium material of the new alloy has a smaller grain size and increased strength when compared to pure Rhenium, which accounts for the enhanced structural strength.Type: GrantFiled: March 24, 2010Date of Patent: March 13, 2012Assignee: Scientific Instrument Services, Inc.Inventors: John J. Manura, Christopher W. Baker, Ronald E. Shomo, II

Publication number: 20120056261Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention relate to an improved package for a bi-directional and reverse blocking battery switch. According to one embodiment, two switches are oriented side-by-side, rather than end-to-end, in a die package. This configuration reduces the total switch resistance for a given die area, often reducing the resistance enough to avoid the use of backmetal in order to meet resistance specifications. Elimination of backmetal reduces the overall cost of the die package and removes the potential failure modes associated with the manufacture of backmetal. Embodiments of the present invention may also allow for more pin connections and an increased pin pitch. This results in redundant connections for higher current connections, thereby reducing electrical and thermal resistance and minimizing the costs of manufacture or implementation of the die package.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 31, 2011Publication date: March 8, 2012Applicant: GEM Services, Inc.Inventors: James Harnden, Lynda Harnden, Anthony Chia, Liming Wong, Hongbo Yang, Anthony C.
