  • Patent number: 7301303
Abstract: A portable battery jump start having a case having soft sides and a soft top cover configured to be selectively closed and opened. The sides of the case are joined to one another by seams that may be taped to become watertight. A first seal is configured for selectively connecting the top cover to the sides. The first seal can include a waterproof zipper. A rigid insert member is disposed inside the case and defines a center compartment, a left compartment and a right end compartment. A battery is snuggly disposed in the center compartment. Each clamp in a pair of electrical clamps is connected to the battery by one of the cables in a pair of cables and stored in one of the end compartments. A control module is disposed in the center compartment and electrically connected to the battery so as to permit selective supply of electricity from the battery to the cables.

  • Publication number: 20070266798
Abstract: A method and apparatus for bearing thrust monitoring allows measurable detection of tilt of a support bearing (52 or 56) for a roller (34 or 36) which rotatably supports a rotating body (22). A tilt meter (75 or 77) adapted to measurably detect a tilt of the support bearing is coupled to the support bearing (52 or 56), where the tilt is defined as an angular difference in bearing orientation between a first bearing position and a second subsequent bearing position that is cause by an axial thrust on the rotary body (22). Once tilt is detected, the bearing orientation of the support bearing (52 or 56) can be adjusted to return the support bearing (52 or 56) to substantially the first bearing position.

Abstract: An ATM includes a currency note dispenser having a currency cassette, a note picker, a note transporter, and a note presenter. A cassette tambour door automatically opens during insertion of the cassette into the dispenser. The picker can pick notes through the opening. A spring loaded housing wall tab retains the picker shaft in mating connection with a drive pin. The transporter can move notes vertically and horizontally. The transporter includes belts between an idle shaft and a drive shaft. The idle shaft is vertically movable relative to a drive shaft to maintain belt tension. The transporter also includes convexly tapered rollers that automatically recenter a loose belt. A presenter gate is at a note dispensing outlet of the ATM. The gate is opened by actuating a lever linked with an arm connected to the gate. The gate opens by moving a pin upward in an angled slot.

  • Publication number: 20070271259
Abstract: A system and method for crawling Web content. First a set of geographic locations is defined. A portion of the set of geographic locations is assigned to a first crawling node. A second portion of the set of geographic locations is assigned to as second crawling node. The first and second crawling nodes then crawl Web content. For each Web page that is located by the first and second crawling nodes a determination is made as to whether the Web page contains a geographic location that belongs the set of geographic locations. If it is determined that the a Web page that is located by either the first or second crawling node does belong to the set of geographic locations, then that Web page is referred to the crawling node to which that geographic location is assigned.

  • Patent number: 7296349
Abstract: When constructing a steam generator, buckstay modules are joined with tube wall units to form buckstay and tube wall modules while the boiler steel structure is being erected, and they are temporarily placed within the boiler steel structure level by level. Then an external part of the boiler top main grid is constructed whose beams are flush with the tube walls of the buckstay and tube wall modules. Then the boiler wall is mounted by aligning and welding the individual tube wall modules from top to bottom. Simultaneously, the internal components are constructed on the boiler base and hoisted to installation height. Preassembling buckstay and tube wall modules eliminate the need for inserting buckstays or tube walls from above through the boiler top main grid. For this reason, the roof opening can be smaller than usual. The inner boiler top main grid therefore does not require its own main beams, which saves a substantial amount of steel.

  • Patent number: 7299177
Abstract: One-to-many comparisons of callers'voice prints with known voice prints to identify any matches between them. When a customer communicates with a particular entity, such as a customer service center, the system makes a recording of the real-time call including both the customer's and agent's voices. The system segments the recording to extract at least a portion of the customer's voice to create a customer voice print, and it formats the segmented voice print for network transmission to a server. The server compares the customer's voice print with multiple known voice prints to determine any matches, meaning that the customer's voice print and one of the known voice prints are likely from the same person. The identification of any matches can be used for a variety of purposes, such as determining whether to authorize a transaction requested by the customer.

  • Patent number: 7299241
Abstract: A system and method for creating virtual flat customer records derived from database customer data that may be used as standardized input for analytical models. A Customer Analytic Record (“CAR”) application may be created as a database object to extract, transform, and format all of the customer data needed for customer segmentation and predictive modeling. The CAR may be a set of database views that are defined using virtual stored queries The CAR application may dynamically calculate additional variables using predetermined transformations, including custom transformations of an underlying behavior. The CAR is preferably a dynamic view of the customer record that changes whenever any update is made to the database. The definition of the CAR provides documentation of each data element available for use in models and analytics.

  • Patent number: 7299483
Abstract: Methods, algorithms, database structures, and reports for informing consumers of changes in times and channels at which episodes of a television (TV) series are aired on television each week. Based on prior TV listings, an expected time-channel (i.e., day-of-week, time, and channel) for airing a TV series is derived. Actual time-channels for a given week are compared with the expected time-channels to determine whether a deviation from the expected time-channel has occurred. If the deviation has occurred, then the deviation is classified, stored in a database, and transferred to a report that shows a list of such deviations for various TV series.

  • Patent number: 7298902
Abstract: A method and system for performing image mark recognition for a document is disclosed. A document is scanned into a digital image. Reference image marks are sensed from the digital image. The reference image marks may include trigger row marks and/or corner/crop marks. Coordinates denoting the location of cells within the digital image are determined based on the locations of the reference image marks. Response marks are evaluated for darkness, opacity, and/or grayness on a pixel-by-pixel basis. The response marks are each assigned a percentage value based on the ratio between a total color value for a cell and a maximum color value for a cell.

  • Patent number: 7299247
Abstract: An apparatus and method are disclosed for producing a semantic representation of information in a semantic space. The information is first represented in a table that stores values which indicate a relationship with predetermined categories. The categories correspond to dimensions in the semantic space. The significance of the information with respect to the predetermined categories is then determined. A trainable semantic vector (TSV) is constructed to provide a semantic representation of the information. The TSV has dimensions equal to the number of predetermined categories and represents the significance of the information relative to each of the predetermined categories. Various types of manipulation and analysis, such as searching, classification, and clustering, can subsequently be performed on a semantic level.
