Abstract: The invention is directed to a method for designing cement slurry compositions based on toughness. The method addresses the problem of achieving a cement slurry with a desired toughness by iteratively selecting a cementitious material and water, including their concentrations, to form a cement slurry recipe. A toughness model, utilizing physicochemical properties of the recipe components, calculates the toughness of the slurry. The calculated toughness is compared to a predetermined toughness requirement. If the requirement is not met, the selection process is repeated with different materials or concentrations until the toughness requirement is satisfied. The resulting cement slurry recipe is used to prepare a cement slurry suitable for applications requiring specific toughness characteristics such as in wellbore cementing.

Abstract: A device receives image data of a contractual document that includes an offer including terms of a proposed transaction, converts the image data to text data that identifies text within the contractual document, and receives preferences information for a recipient of the offer. The device identifies key terms within the contractual document by using term identification to analyze the text. The key terms may include a first key term that identifies subject matter of the proposed transaction and other key terms that are part of the offer. The device determines term scores that correspond to likelihoods of the other key terms being favorable to the recipient by using a data model to analyze the key terms and the preferences information. The device, based on the term scores, generates and provides another device with a recommendation to be used in determining whether the accept the offer.

Abstract: The embodiments provide a system and method for filtering out smoke and/or toxic gases/fumes from air in a building. The system integrates various smart devices with an HVAC system along with a controlling software application that can change the state of the smart devices, thereby controlling the types and quantities of air moving through the HVAC system at any time. In particular, the system can adjust the openings of one or more smart registers to control how much air passes in and out of the HVAC system over a given period of time. The system can also adjust the opening of a smart intake vent to control how much fresh (outside) air passes into the system over a given period of time. The system can also adjust the opening of a smart furnace valve that is disposed within the furnace.

Abstract: Disclosed embodiments relate to inflatable packer elements, which may be configured to dynamically adjust the axial position of the seal element. The seal element may include an inflatable bladder having a thin-walled skin, which may be radially expanded into sealing position by inflation of the bladder. Embodiments may be configured to dynamically alter the configuration of the bladder by axial movement of the bladder in order to provide additional radial expansion of the bladder. For example, one or both of the top and bottom sides of the seal element bladder may be configured to dynamically translate axially towards the other of the top and bottom sides, which may provide additional material of the thin-walled skin of the bladder capable of expanding radially outward upon inflation. Systems and methods of using and making such packer devices are also disclosed.

Abstract: Described and depicted is an application apparatus for applying additional elements, in particular straws, to packages, preferably cardboard composite packages. So that the application can also be carried out reliably at high speeds and with moderate equipment complexity, it is provided that at least two applicators are provided which are adjustable along a common, circumferential transport track from a pick-up position for picking up the additional elements to an application position for applying the additional elements to the packages and back and which comprise respectively at least one application finger for pressing the additional elements onto the packages.

Abstract: Methods and systems for preventing unauthorized resource access. In some aspects, the system obtains, in real time, a first data stream between a user requesting access to resources in a user account and an agent. The system processes, using a first machine learning model, the first data stream to generate a confidence score. If the confidence score exceeds a threshold, the system generates a sandbox context configured to simulate output indicative of successful resource access. The system obtains a second data stream for the sandbox context and processes it using a second machine learning model to determine whether the communication between the agent and the user was malicious. If the communication was not malicious, the system removes the user account from the sandbox context and effects grant of resource access. Otherwise, the system reports the agent and the user account for further processing for attempts to obtain unauthorized user access.

Abstract: In some embodiments, reducing usage of cache memory in connection with user queries may be facilitated. In some embodiments, in connection with a first query, (i) a first set of results received during a user session and (ii) a first output generated from the first set of results are stored in a session cache associated with the user session. In response to determining that a second query parameter of a second query corresponds to a first query parameter of the first query but fails to satisfy a match criterion: a cache lookup is performed on the session cache to retrieve a matching result subset of the first set of results, in lieu of retrieving the first output generated from the first set of results, where the matching result subset does not include a result corresponding to the first query parameter. A second output is then generated.

Abstract: In some embodiments, a malware detection system includes an attack channel removal unit, a feature extraction unit coupled to the attack channel removal unit, and a graphical encoding unit coupled to the feature extraction unit and a malware detection unit. In some embodiments, based upon graphically-encoded component-based features and monotonic features extracted from attack-channel-free software output by the attack channel removal unit, the malware detection unit detects malware in software input into the malware detection system. In some embodiments, the monotonic features extracted from the attack-channel free software and the graphically-encoded component-based features are combined to generate a combination monotonic-component based feature vector. In some embodiments, the combination monotonic-component based feature vector is used to detect malware using the malware detection system.

Abstract: Methods and systems are described herein for facilitating generation of synthetic datasets having a change point. The system may receive a command to generate a synthetic time series dataset. The system may generate data points for components of the synthetic dataset, the components including a seasonality function, a trend function, and a noise function. The system may modify the trend function to a different trend function by modifying a level or a slope of the trend function. The system may generate a change point by replacing a subset of consecutive data points generated using the trend function with consecutive data points generated using the different trend function. The system may then generate the synthetic time series dataset having a change point by combining the seasonality data points, the trend data points, and the noise data points into corresponding time slots of the synthetic time series dataset.

Abstract: Exemplary embodiments provide methods, mediums, and systems for performing a reusable, intelligent semantic search across a potentially large number of records. Embodiments may be particularly useful for responding to requests for information from regulatory agencies. In one embodiment, an embedding model is trained to embed queries in an embedding space. When a new query is received, the new query is embedded with the embedding model. A set of documents (e.g., previous responses to regulatory inquiries) may be searched using the embedded query and an indexing model that allows for efficient searches of embedding spaces. A number of results may be returned from the document store, and the results may be ranked by a ranking model. User feedback about the quality of the results may be received, and the ranking model may be retrained based on the feedback.

Abstract: In some embodiments, a system for producing fluid from a well can include an electrical submersible pump (ESP) disposed in a wellbore of the well and configured to pump the fluid. The system may further include a distributed acoustic sensing (DAS) system, for example having an interrogator unit and a fiber optic cable extending downhole in the wellbore. An end of the fiber optic cable can be disposed downhole relative to the ESP. In embodiments, the system may further include a controller configured to receive data from the DAS system, process the data to detect a slug, determine a parameter of the detected slug, and alter operation of the ESP in response to determining that the parameter exceeds a threshold.
