Publication number: 20220145705Abstract: A rotary transfer mechanism is disclosed for a motor, pump, or other downhole tool that accommodates the eccentric motion of a rotor without the need for a flex shaft, articulating joint or CV joint. In one configuration, the rotor is coupled to the drive shaft at a radial offset from the drive shaft axis. The orbiting motion of the rotor, rather than rotation of the rotor about its own axis, generates a torque on the drive shaft, by applying a tangential force to the drive shaft at the location of the radial offset. The radial offset may be set equal to the orbital radius so that no radial movement or flex is required at the drive shaft to accommodate the eccentric rotor movement.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 11, 2020Publication date: May 12, 2022Applicant: Halliburton Energy Services, Inc.Inventor: Joseph Robert Munguia

Publication number: 20220144677Abstract: A horizontal flow water treatment method and wetland biofilter apparatus provides a chamber with impermeable outer walls spaced away from permeable interior walls of a media filtration bed such that a catch basin is formed between the outer walls and the interior walls. The catch basin creates an open area around the perimeter of the interior walls for influent water to fill within the open area before penetrating the filtration media, providing a large surface area for influent water to interact with the media filtration bed. The influent water enters the catch basin in a horizontal flow path to provide for pre-settling of particulates before making contact with the filtration media. The biofilter design increases the available surface area of the media filtration bed by up to four times for a given volume of water, and thereby minimizes the loading or infiltration rate on the media filtration bed.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 20, 2022Publication date: May 12, 2022Applicant: Bio Clean Environmental Services, Inc.Inventors: Greg B. Patent number: 11326417Abstract: Some aspects of what is described here relate to analyzing a well cement slurry. In some aspects, a well cement slurry is mixed in a mixer under a plurality of conditions. The plurality of conditions correspond to a plurality of distinct Reynolds number values for the well cement slurry in the mixer. Power number values associated with mixing the well cement slurry in the mixer under the plurality of conditions are identified. Each power number value is based on an amount of energy used to mix the well cement slurry under a respective one of the plurality of conditions. Values for parameters of a functional relationship between power number and Reynolds number are identified based on the power number values and the Reynolds number values for the plurality of conditions.Type: GrantFiled: August 27, 2019Date of Patent: May 10, 2022Assignee: Halliburton Energy Services, Inc.Inventors: Vivek S. Patent number: 11326407Abstract: Effective prediction of downhole mixing and channeling at an interface between two or more wellbore fluids may prevent the unnecessary consumption of resources at a well site and enhance the performance of wellbore operations, including drilling operations, completion operations, and reservoir management. A model for a length and a volume of the interface between two wellbore fluids may be used to characterize the amount of mixing and channeling. The model may use known properties of the wellbore fluids before mixing and channeling occurs. The model may account for eccentricity in an annulus of the wellbore by partitioning a three dimensional flow profile in the wellbore into a plurality of segments for separate analysis. Outputs from the model may be used to determine one or more locations of the interface at one or more intervals of time as the wellbore fluids circulate through the wellbore.Type: GrantFiled: December 31, 2018Date of Patent: May 10, 2022Assignee: Halliburton Energy Services, Inc.Inventors: Vitor Lopes Pereira, Dale E.
