Abstract: A system and method is provided for delivering customized information related to a specific product of interest to consumer. In practice, the consumer uses a suitably enabled portable, mobile and/or wireless device (e.g., such as a mobile camera phone) to scan or otherwise read a marker associated with a product, retail item or other article of interest. From the marker, a unique ID is obtained (i.e., the marker ID). The marker ID is then used to cross-reference a URL or other like address in a database that relates marker IDs to corresponding URLs. The target URL is returned to the consumer's device and an http session is established with a content management server at the target URL. In one suitable embodiment, the content management server obtains a SKU and/or template web page ID that are associated with the marker ID in a database. Suitably, the SKU relates to the specific product with which the marker was associated.

Abstract: Multiple on-line coupons are automatically tested on items of interest to a customer, without requiring the customer to perform any action or to look for such coupons in various sources. Such testing can be automatically initiated and performed on items within the customer's shopping cart. Alternatively or additionally, testing can be automatically initiated and performed while the customer is browsing a page for an item on an e-commerce website, before the customer has even placed items in his or her shopping cart. The best coupon or coupons are then presented to the customer, or automatically applied to provide the customer with the appropriate discounts.

Abstract: In some implementations, a device may process an image to identify one or more first lines of the image that extend in a first dimension. The device may process the image to identify one or more second lines of the image that extend in a second dimension orthogonal to the first dimension. The device may identify portions of the one or more first lines that do not intersect with the one or more second lines. The device may process the image to obtain a version of the image in which the portions of the one or more first lines are removed.

Abstract: Example embodiments of systems and methods for data transmission between contactless card and receiving devices are provided. In an embodiment, the contactless card may be configured to create a cryptogram based on a plurality of keys and a counter. The cryptogram may be transmitted to the receiving device. The contactless card may be configured to transmit a one-time password to the client device. The counter value may be adjusted each time the one-time password is generated, and the counter may be configured to increment in a non-monotonic sequence, the sequence associated with one or more cryptographic algorithms.

Abstract: A vapor-generating system includes a cartridge, a vapor-generating device and a piercing element. The cartridge includes a cartridge housing configured to hold a solid vapor-forming substrate within the cartridge housing interior, a liquid storage housing configured to hold a liquid vapor-forming substrate within the liquid storage housing interior, and a frangible seal on the liquid storage housing. The vapor-generating device includes a device housing at least partially defining a cavity, an electric heater, and a power supply. The piercing element is configured to pierce the frangible seal of the cartridge to expose the liquid storage housing interior to be in fluid communication with the electric heater based on the vapor-generating device coupling with the cartridge such that the device housing at least partially receives the cartridge into the cavity. The electric heater is located externally from the piercing element.

Abstract: Systems and methods for formatting data are disclosed. For example, a system may include at least one memory storing instructions and one or more processors configured to execute the instructions to perform operations. The operations may include receiving data comprising a plurality of sequences of data values and training a recurrent neural network model to output conditional probabilities of subsequent data values based on preceding data values in the data value sequences. The operations may include generating conditional probabilities using the trained recurrent neural network model and the received data. The operations may include determining a data format of a subset of the data value sequences, based on the generated conditional probabilities, and reformatting at least one of the data value sequences according to the determined data format.

The method comprises receiving a description of a semantic layer operation performed by a semantic layer, the description including multiple implementations of the semantic layer operation, the multiple implementations differing in at least one of cloud operations used or cloud computing platforms used; receiving a request that indicates performance of the semantic layer operation; receiving first resource usage indications corresponding to the cloud operations, wherein the first resource usage indications comprise direct or indirect indications of least one of a storage amount, a compute amount, a number of transactions, a bandwidth, a number of application programming interface calls, or an application or database type associated with each of the cloud operations: selecting a first one of the multiple implementations; and communicating with the first one of the cloud providers to perform the semantic layer operation.

Abstract: Described herein is a system for automatically capturing images. A device may execute an application on the device. In response to receiving a request for capturing an image of a document, the application may control the operation of the camera to contemporaneously and continuously capture image frames of an area within the field of view of a camera of the device. The field of view may include an object and in turn may be included in the captured image frames. The application may determine whether the aspect ratio and real-world size of the object in the captured image frames corresponds with a specified threshold size and aspect ratio which corresponds with a given document type. In response to determining the object corresponds to the given document type, the camera may automatically extract an image of the object.

Abstract: A nicotine lozenge includes a body that is partially or wholly receivable in an oral cavity. The body includes a soluble-fiber matrix and nicotine or a derivative thereof dispersed in the soluble-fiber matrix. A nicotine lozenge may include at least 40 weight percent of soluble fiber. Soluble fiber in a nicotine lozenge may include maltodextrin. The nicotine lozenge is adapted to release the nicotine or a derivative thereof from the body when the body is received within the oral cavity of an adult consumer and exposed to saliva. A method of making nicotine lozenges includes forming a molten mixture of at least 40 weight percent soluble fiber, nicotine, and less than 15 weight percent water while maintaining a mixture temperature of less than 150° C. and portioning the molten mixture into a plurality of nicotine lozenges. The ingredients can be mixed to form the molten mixture in an extruder.

Abstract: Systems and methods for identifying and remedying password insecurities are disclosed. The systems and methods include crawling websites to identify popular cultural terms and saving the cultural terms in a backend system. The cultural terms can include names of celebrities, politicians, movies, and the like. An identification system receives a password and compares the received password to the cultural terms using a similarity score. If the number of similarities is above a predetermined threshold, or if the number of differences is below a predetermined threshold, the identification system denies the password. A recommendation system can generate a suggested password, which can also be compared to the cultural terms. The systems and methods also provide the ability to calculate a similarity score if the cultural terms or passwords are saved in an encrypted or hashed format.

Abstract: The disclosed embodiments provide systems, methods, and techniques for managing transaction cards. User registration processes, order processes, and failure detection processes for a secure universal shopping cart are provided. Systems and methods may acquire identifiers. Systems and methods may also identify items associated with the identifiers. In addition, systems and methods may acquire a list of merchants that offer each item. Systems and methods may further determine, for each identifier, merchants based on user preferences. Even further, systems and methods may generate a payment token for each item. Systems and methods may then transmit the payment token for each item to its respective merchant.

Abstract: Various embodiments are generally directed to a dynamic, flexible acronym decoder. A user may submit a query via one of a plurality of user interfaces. Information describing the user may be received to generate a context vector for the user. The query may be processed against a database of terms using the context vector, a machine learning model, and content tags applied to terms in the database. Processing the queries against the database may return a result set, and the ML model may be used to compute a score for each result. The results may be ordered based on the scores and returned as responsive to the query.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method includes receiving an authentication request from an external device for authenticating an application on the external device, and receiving a plurality of information items in connection with the authentication request from a plurality of different externally residing information sources. The authentication request is then evaluated, which includes evaluating each of the plurality of information items, to determine an authentication status of the application. Based on the authentication status, the device is then selectively permitted access to private information through the application. A computer system and/or machine-readable media may be provided to perform some or all steps of the method.

Abstract: A system and a method for use of electric motors in fracturing operations are disclosed. The system includes an electric motor, a turbine generator, an encoderless vector control subsystem, and at least one pump. The turbine generator is adapted to generate electric power for the system. The encoderless vector control subsystem is coupled between the turbine generator and the electric motor to control the electric motor using determined parameters that are based in part on vibration induced in a feature associated with the turbine generator. The at least one pump is adapted to receive torque input from the electric motor.
