Abstract: Methods and systems pertaining secure transaction systems are disclosed. In one implementation, a computer with a verification token associated with a computer can send user authentication data as well as a secure datum to a control server. The verification token may obtain the secure datum from a validation entity. The control server can validate the secure datum and authentication data and can generate a payer authentication response.

Abstract: A plug for sealing a well in oil and gas recovery operations, and a method of removing the plug from the well is provided. The method is an erosion method of dislodging the plug from the wellbore, and the plug is designed so as to better be removed through erosion. The plug includes a jetting component to direct an abrasive fluid during the erosion method.

Abstract: A melt-blown fabric for pouching smokeless tobacco or a smokeless tobacco substitute can include melt-blown polymer fibers. The fabric can have a basis weight of less than 10 gsm and a tensile strength of at least 4 mJ in at least one predetermined direction. Method of making the fabric can include melt-blowing a polymeric material against a support surface and bonding the fibers or arranging them in a predetermined orientation. Pouched smokeless tobacco or tobacco substitute products including the fabrics provided herein can provide desirable flavor and tactile experience.

Abstract: In some aspects, a cutting tool is provided. The cutting tool can include a mandrel, a sleeve, and first and second cutting elements. The mandrel can include first and second protrusions positioned at respective first and second lengths along the mandrel. The sleeve can at least partially surround the mandrel. Each of the first and second cutting elements can move from a respective position within the sleeve to a respective position at least partially protruding from the sleeve in response to a respective force exerted by a respective one of the first and second protrusions.

Abstract: Embodiments include a system configured to process location information for objects in a site comprising an imaging device configured to take a picture of an object, the picture containing a unique identifier of the object; a global positioning system (GPS) component associated with the imaging device and configured to tag the image of the object with GPS location information of the object to generate a tagged image; a communications interface configured to transmit the tagged image to a server computer remote from the imaging device over an Internet Protocol (IP) network; and a processor of the server configured to perform Optical Character Recognition (OCR) on the picture and to create an indicator code corresponding to the identifier of the object, wherein the processor is further configured to create a processed result containing the indicator code and the location to locate the object within the site.

Abstract: A call processing system and method for providing a secondary information channel to a caller. Upon reception of a call from a caller to a customer service representative on a primary access channel determine a device (secondary device) associated with the caller that is separate from the device the caller is using for the primary access channel. The secondary device is to be used to provide a secondary information access channel. The secondary information access channel is complimentary to the primary access channel between the caller and the customer service representative and is utilized to deliver information content to the caller and/or provide other services supportive of the conversation with the company service representative.

Abstract: A transaction card may power on the transaction card using electric current induced from an interaction of the transaction card with an electromagnetic field. The transaction card may establish a communication with a device. The communication may indicate that the transaction card has powered. The transaction card may receive, from the device, a set of instructions to configure a set of applets on the transaction card after notifying the device that the transaction card has powered on. The set of applets to be configured may be related to completing one or more different transactions. The set of applets to be configured may be different than another set of applets already configured on the transaction card. The transaction card may configure the set of applets on the transaction card according to the set of instructions after receiving the set of instructions.

Abstract: A working string is used to actuate a first valve of a completion string in a well to seal a float shoe of the completion string from a remainder of the completion string. The working string is also used to actuate a second valve of the completion string to seal the center bore of the completion string. Actuating the first valve and the second valve is performed without withdrawing the working string from the well. In certain instances, the working string is a washpipe that includes a shifting profile for each valve.

Abstract: To prevent malicious code from accessing security sensitive functions implemented in a private portion of an application, accesses to the private portion are performed using a secure session established within the application between the private portion and a public portion of the same application. An authorization key can be shared between the public portion and the private portion. When the public portion attempts to invoke a function implemented in the private portion, a secure session is set up by generating a session ID, combining the session ID and the authorization key in a key derivation function to generate a conversation key, and using the conversation key to encrypt the function call from the public portion. The private portion can then decrypt a properly encrypted function call and invoke the appropriate function.

Abstract: This disclosure relates generally to the treatment of lysosomal storage disorders. Specifically, the disclosure relates to a novel use of ? tocopherol in the treatment of diseases and conditions related to lysosomal storage disorders. Included in the present disclosure is a method for the modulation of cholesterol recycling. Further, the disclosure relates to conditions such as Niemann-Pick type C disease, Farber disease, Niemann-Pick type A disease, Wolman disease and Tay Sachs disease. Further included in the present disclosure is a method for treating lysosomal storage disorders comprising the administration of ? tocopherol. Further included in the present disclosure is a method for treating lysosomal storage disorders comprising the administration of ? tocopherol in combination with cyclodextrin to a patient in need thereof.

Abstract: A person support system is disclosed that includes cooling features to provide focal cooling to a subject supported by the person support system. Embodiments of the person support system include a longitudinal frame having at least one side rail, a deck position on the longitudinal frame, a support pad positioned on the deck, and a cooling source thermally coupled to the deck. The deck is a thermally conductive material. The cooling source draws heat from a portion of the support pad, through the top surface of the deck, and through the deck thereby cooling the portion of the support pad. The cooling source may be positioned in the side rail or directly to a bottom surface of the deck. Cooling systems that are removeably coupleable to person support systems are also disclosed.

Abstract: A cervical traction assembly for use with a patient support apparatus includes an adjustment carriage track member including a connecting bracket assembly that releasably connects to a mount support member of the patient support apparatus. The adjustment track member includes a track body including a pair of opposing sidewalls that are spaced-apart from each other to define an elongated channel therebetween. Each sidewall includes a guide track that extends along a length of the respective sidewall. A rope angle adjustment carriage is located within the channel. The rope angle adjustment carriage includes a first track engagement member that is received by one of the guide tracks of one of the sidewalls and a second track engagement member that is received by another of the guide tracks of another of the sidewalls.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides systems and methods for performance evaluation of Input/Output (I/O) intensive enterprise applications. Representative workloads may be generated for enterprise applications using synthetic benchmarks that can be used across multiple platforms with different storage systems. I/O traces are captured for an application of interest at low concurrencies and features that affect performance significantly are extracted, fed to a synthetic benchmark and replayed on a target system thereby accurately creating the same behavior of the application. Statistical methods are used to extrapolate the extract features to predict performance at higher concurrency level without generating traces at those concurrency levels. The method does not require deploying the application or database on the target system since performance of system is dependent on access patterns instead of actual data.

The method can include placing in the subterranean formation a crosslinked composition that includes proppant particles including polymer coatings thereon. The crosslinked composition also includes inter-particle crosslinks between the polymer coatings of at least some of the proppant particles, the inter-particle crosslinks including a crosslinker.

Abstract: An optimal diagnosis method chooses a sequence of tests for diagnosing a problem by an iterative process. In each iteration, a ranked list of hypotheses is generated or updated for each root cause. Each hypothesis is represented by a set of test results for a set of unperformed tests, and the generating or updating is performed by adding hypotheses such that the ranked list for each root cause is ranked according to conditional probabilities of the hypotheses conditioned on the root cause. The ranked lists of hypotheses for the root causes are merged, and a test of the set of unperformed tests is selected using the merged ranked lists as a proxy (i.e. a representative and sufficient sample) for the whole set of possible hypotheses. A test result for the selected test is generated or received. An update is performed, including removing the selected test from the set of unperformed tests and removing from the ranked lists of hypotheses those hypotheses that are inconsistent with the test result.

Abstract: A system, method, and computer readable medium (collectively, the “system”) is disclosed for generating real-time insights from a big data storage platform. The system may process transaction data stored in a big data management system (BDMS) to generate characteristic data associated with a plurality of demographics. The system may also model an account associated with a corporate ID to identify a demographic from the plurality of demographics associated with the corporate ID. The system may further compare the user data associated with the corporate ID to the characteristic data of the demographic associated with the corporate ID to generate a view responsive to a request. The system may also transmit the view in response to the request, for example, to an interface for use by a program administrator.
