Abstract: A method and system for improving borehole image forward modeling of formation properties is disclosed. An imaginary circle (106) having a plurality of bins (202) is centered at a location of interest at an axial position along the target wellbore (102). The imaginary circle is perpendicular to an axis (110) of the target wellbore and represents a region of the formation to be analyzed. A pseudo log relating to the parameter of interest at the axial position along the target wellbore is then determined. The pseudo log comprises at least a value for the parameter of interest at a desired point corresponding to one of the plurality of bins. The determined pseudo log is then visualized.

Abstract: A stretching tool and method for post-surgery patient recovery is disclosed having a bag design to enclose a patient's foot for stretching exercises with incremental ladder like grips or handles positioned on a pair of longer straps. The least amount of stretch generated by grabbing the inner most straps or grips and greatest amount of stretch generated by grabbing the straps or grips outermost. The dual laddered straps facilitate a controlled and symmetrical self-stretch which inhibits protective responses, yielding a superior stretch. The incremental handles and grips to the long straps accommodate any height/size of patient. The grips promote increased relaxation while being able to apply force necessary for stretch. The stretching tool inhibits protective responses which are highly beneficial for the painful joint that requires motion and stretching post knee and hip arthroplasty. The straps and grips may be conveniently enclosed in the bag during non-use.
Abstract: A well tool for sensing seismic activity at a downhole location has an anchoring mechanism for mechanically coupling the tool to a formation by contact engagement with a wall of a subterranean cavity in which the well tool is located. The anchoring mechanism is deployable by a pressure-triggered hydraulic actuator incorporated in the tool. The actuator is configured for pressure-triggered activation and for hydraulic actuation by agency of borehole fluids (e.g., drilling mud). The actuator can provide a persistent contacting force urging the anchoring mechanism into contact with the cavity wall, to promote firm coupling with the formation for seismic sensoring purposes.
Abstract: A method for logging a wellbore includes positioning a downhole tool having a downhole clock in the wellbore, logging the wellbore with the downhole tool, transmitting a surface signal from a wellbore surface to the downhole tool, and receiving the surface signal at the downhole tool. The method also includes transmitting a downhole signal from the downhole tool to the surface, receiving the downhole signal at the wellbore surface, and determining clock drift based on an arrival time of the surface signal at the downhole tool and an arrival time of the downhole signal at the wellbore surface.

Abstract: A method for displaying performance of a wellbore drilling operation including wellbore cleaning includes defining drilling parameters for the drilling operation. The method includes defining a visualization tool including a boundary defined by the drilling parameters, where the boundary depicts an optimal rate of penetration (ROP). The method includes displaying the visualization tool with the optimal ROP, where the optimal ROP defines a maximum ROP for optimal wellbore cleaning based on the drilling parameters. The method includes displaying an actual rate of penetration (ROP) with respect to the optimal ROP on the visualization tool. The method further includes adjusting the actual ROP to match the optimal ROP.
Abstract: The invention includes systems, methods, and software applications for centrally maintaining information and automatically distributing relevant portions of the information to remote users. In one embodiment, a central server stores the information, which is maintained on the central server. Abstract: A single-use pressure-controlled actuator for downhole well tools or mechanisms is provided. The actuator is configured for control of activation/deactivation by agency of wellbore fluid pressure (e.g., pressure levels of drilling fluid or drilling mud in the wellbore). The actuator is further configured for hydraulic actuation by agency of the wellbore fluid. The actuator comprises a plunger displaceably mounted on a sealed cylinder body, with a non-reclosable frangible device closing off wellbore fluid access to an interior of the cylinder body. The frangible device is configured for automatic in response to exposure of wellbore fluid pressures exceeding a predetermined activation threshold.
