  • Patent number: 11105951
Abstract: A calibrator is positioned on a logging tool at an angular orientation with respect to the logging tool. The calibrator has a radioactive source of gamma radiation distributed inside the calibrator. A first detector count rate is determined based on a detector in the logging tool detecting gamma radiation. One or more of the calibrator and logging tool is rotated by a first number of degrees. A second detector count rate is determined based on the detector in the logging tool detecting gamma radiation. One or more of the calibrator and logging tool is rotated by second number of degrees. A third detector count rate is determined based on the detector in the logging tool detecting gamma radiation. The first, second, and third detector count rates are averaged to determine a calibration gain factor based on the average detector count rate and a known indication of gamma radiation emitted by the calibrator.

  • Publication number: 20210263170
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for calibrating radioactive sources are described. An array of scintillation detectors form a receptacle within which a sample or sample container can be retained by a holder. The scintillation detectors are coupled via light transducers such as photomultiplier tubes (PMTs) to independent electronic counters. Coincidence processing of time-tagged events yields a correlated cent rate. One or more corrections can be applied as needed, for background counts, deadtime, or random coincidences. Voltage tuning of PMTs yields improved reproducibility. Variations are disclosed. 1% accuracy has been demonstrated over a range N of 10 kBq-3 MBq, covering a gap in the capabilities of conventional technology.

  • Publication number: 20210263971
Abstract: A computer implemented method and system for automatically creating an annotated dataset. An automatic annotating system may access a proprietary database and an unannotated dataset and identify tokens, or character spans, of the unannotated dataset that match property values in the database. The automatic annotating system may then determine whether the identified tokens in the unannotated dataset originated, or derived, from the database by calculating probabilities using a language model and a Bayesian network. The automatic annotating system annotates identified tokens determined to originate from the database by associating a tag to each identified token and assigning annotation attributes for each tag. The annotations and associated properties and values are stored as an annotated dataset. The annotated dataset may then be used train automated, machine learned models to identify and tag other datasets.
