Abstract: A bioleaching and solvent extraction process with selective recovery of copper and zinc from polymetallic sulphide concentrates is described, comprising a bioleaching and ferric ion reducing process and a copper and zinc solvent extraction process. The bioleaching and ferric ion reducing process comprises a concentrates pulp conditioning step; a bioleaching step, wherein once the pulp is conditioned it is subjected to a bioleaching process using a plurality of bioreactors of the stirred-tank type with an air injection and diffusion system, which allows handling of a pulp density higher than 15%; a step of solid separation from a solution rich in metallic ions from the bioleaching step; and, a ferric ion reduction step, wherein the pulp from the previous step is subjected to a transformation step of ferric ions into ferrous ions.

Abstract: Flame retardant, low smoke emission and halogen free energy cable with silane cross-linked polyolefin insulation and polyamide jacket for electrical installations up to 600 V, based on: a) an electric conductor core made of copper or aluminum; b) an insulating layer made of silane cross-linked polyethylene; and c) a flame retardant nylon-6 jacket with low smoke emission; characterized in that said core a) is based on a plurality of soft copper wires with electrical resistivity no greater than 17,241 nOhm.m (0.15328 Ohm.g/m2) equivalent to a IACS 100% conductivity or aluminum with electrical resistivity not greater than 28,264 nOhm.m (0.07639 Ohm.g/m2) equivalent to a IACS 61% conductivity and having reduced insulating thicknesses.

It is based on a closed module that is manufactured with hot galvanized stamped laminated steel or with injection molding plastic, and comprehends four sections: A), B), C) and D), where A) corresponds to a casing which houses B) and C) overlapped sections, and these are finally assembled to D) section, together with an electronic power source; the B) section is an electrical harness, the C) section is a plurality of LED bars, and D) section corresponds to the reflecting screen, that counts with a plurality of individual reflecting elements of concave, elliptical or parabolic type.

Abstract: Thermoplastic formulations to manufacture pipe and fluid accessories for home and industrial use comprising a polyvinyl chlorinated thermoplastic compound (CPVC) at a level up to 100 phr, oxidizing agents, polymer promoter agents, and impact modifier agents characterized because it includes a blend of internal and external lubricant agents based on: paraffinic wax selected from paraffinic wax from calcium stearate, polyethylene wax, oxidized polyethylene wax, stearic acid and fatty acid waxes, polyethylene wax, homopolymer of oxidized ethylene, paraffinic wax and mercaptide thermostabilizing agents.

Abstract: Improved process for manufacturing ring-type metal joints for high pressure ducts, characterized because it presents the following steps: a) oval bar manufacturing and b) ring-type metal joints manufacturing, wherein the oval bar manufacturing comprises the following steps: submitting a round metal bar to a sharpening treatment before it is drawn through a die and forming the oval bar; cutting, rolling, and bending the oval bar and welding the profile; submitting the joint to an electrolytic coating treatment.

Abstract: An ultra thin wall primary cable for automotive service including a conductor nucleus including a smooth, annealed, geometrically formed joint of copper wires, and an insulating thermoplastic cover including polyvinyl chloride which is lead free, flame retardant, and resistant to abrasion, gasoline and pinch test. The cable is fabricated in three stages including: i) stretching copper wires by a one-row or multi-row drawing machine; ii) passing the copper wires through a single or double torsion joining machine; wherein steps (i) and (ii) are performed in such manner as to result in a geometrically constructed joint which is sufficiently smooth and having slight undulations; iii) positioning the insulating thermoplastic cover concentrically around the conductor nucleus; and iv) extruding the thermoplastic cover around the conductor nucleus.

Abstract: The primary cable of compressed conductor is properly a low tension primary cable with the particularity of having a same sectional area that permits to conduct, the same amount of electric current to any part of an automotive vehicle. However, its external diameter is much more smaller related to a same caliber of the same nature because of the compression that it suffers during the process of the compacted joining in a joining machine. The cable of compressed conductor has several advantages over other conventional primary cables, since a bigger standardization in the insulator thickness is found and in this way, a standardization on the results of the chemical-physical, and mechanical tests is accomplished. Abstract: The invention relates to a method of preparing an improved cable and an improved optical fiber cable comprising a central reinforcement member and a plurality of loose tubes as laying elements, placed longitudinally around the central reinforcement member. The loose tubes comprising at least one or more optical fiber filaments. A gel filling material is contained in both the inner section as well as the outer section of the loose tubes. A layer encircling the assembly is selected from the group consisting of an aramide fiber layer, a fiber glass and combination thereof. At least one or more plastic cover is placed longitudinally over the fiber layer to support metal ribbons which are peripherally incorporated to the assembly and a second layer of plastic cover is placed over the metal ribbon.

Abstract: The insulating formulation is a mixture of vulcanizable halogen free polyolefins with low smoke emission and fire resistance characteristics, for application in compounds to insulate and cover cables and electric conductors. The polyolefins are formulated with a hydrated inorganic charge, an alkoxysilane, a curing agent, an additive such as a process assistance agent and a combination of two antioxidants, a hindered phenol and a zinc-mercapto toluimidazole salt. The stabilized formulations with the antioxidant combination of phenol with steric hindrance and zinc 2 mercapto toluimidazole salt offer a good thermostability at 3000 hours at a temperature of 125.degree. C. and at 240 hours at a temperature of 165.degree. C. and does not stain or decolorate the copper surface when the composition is steam vulcanized.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a hydraulic reactor and classifier, with ultrasonic application for a continuous process of separation and recovering minerals or other type of materials or for the production of chemical compounds. It comprises a body of two main sections, an upper part and a lower part. The upper part comprises a container, a loading compartment, a lamella package, at least one ultrasound transducer package and a peripheral weir. The lower part comprises an inverted semi-pyramidal container having a square base, the square base attached to the upper part, at least one ultrasound transducer package at different location within the reactor to distribute the ultrasound effect all over the slurry flowing through the reactor, a nozzle for delivering a liquid or a gas. The final part comprises a pinch valve for discharging coarse particles as a slurry.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a device that measures and counts near surface bubbles on a copper bar, as well as the cracks on the lateral sides. The device detects said flaws in real time. The device is based on the image digitalization technique. The device consists of a personal computer, a video camera, a digitalization card, water and air sprinklers, external monitor and camera frame. The input of the images is performed with the video camera protected within the frame. The object of the water and air sprinklers is to make the bar flaws more visible. The external monitor allows to focus the area of interest and the digitalizing card within the computer, following the instructions of the program, performs the image analysis.

Abstract: A coextruded triple layer electric conductor for cable insulation having low humidity absorption, low emission of toxic gases, low smoke emission and high flame retardance comprising a first layer comprising polyvinyl chloride as a base over an electric conductor core, a second layer over first layer, comprising high density polyelthylene optionally modified with an ethylene copolymer, and a third layer over said second layer comprising polyvinyl chloride as a base.
