Abstract: Devices and methods for detecting joint motion of a user. In particular embodiments, devices may comprise a deflectable beam coupled to a user via adhesive pads located between the neck and shoulder of the use. Audio and haptic feedback can be provided to the user when the deflectable beam deflects due to motion of the joint.

Abstract: This disclosure includes apparatuses and methods for temporarily securing a movable accessory structure relative to a movable patient-support structure. Some of the present apparatuses include an S-shaped body having a front, a back, a top, a bottom, a first side, a second side, and a longitudinal axis extending through the first and second sides, the body defining a first hook on the first side, and a second hook on the second side, the first hook opening toward the front of the body to define a first opening, and the second hook opening toward the back of the body to define a second opening. In some apparatuses, the first hook is dimensioned to receive a first member of the patient-support structure, and the second hook is dimensioned to receive a second member of the accessory structure, such that the body will resist separation of the accessory structure from the patient-support structure during movement of the patient-support structure.

Abstract: This disclosure includes shave biopsy devices having an elongated body with a proximal surface extending between first and second ends that are configured to be grasped by a user's fingers and a blade coupled to the body, where the body is configured to be curved such that the proximal surface is concave. In some devices, at least a portion of the body has a substantially fixed curvature. Some devices include a depth gauge disposed on at least one of the blade and proximal surface of the body, the depth gauge configured to indicate slicing depth of the blade when the body is curved to at least one predetermined curvature.

Abstract: This disclosure includes needle holders and related methods. Some holders use or include an elongated handle having a proximal portion and a distal portion, a first jaw member coupled to the distal portion of the handle, a second jaw member pivotally coupled to the first jaw member, and a lever pivotally coupled to the handle and coupled to the second jaw member such that the lever can be actuated by a user's thumb to selectively open and close the jaw members. In some holders, the handle extends proximally beyond the lever such that the lever can be actuated by the user's thumb to selectively open and close the jaw members while the handle is grasped within the user's hand. In some holders, the handle is defined by an elongated housing defining an interior volume configured to receive at least a portion of the lever when the jaw members are closed.

Abstract: Some embodiments of the present door handles include a housing, a hand sanitizer delivery system coupled to the housing, the hand sanitizer delivery system having a reservoir configured to contain hand sanitizer, a nozzle in selective fluid communication with the reservoir, and a pump configured to communicate hand sanitizer from the reservoir to the nozzle, and a first lever movably coupled to the housing, where the housing is configured to be mounted to a door having a movable latch such that movement of the first lever a first distance in a first direction actuates the door latch, and where the hand sanitizer delivery system can be actuated independently of the door latch. In some embodiments, the housing is configured to be mounted to the door such that movement of the first lever a second distance, smaller than the first distance, in the first direction actuates the hand sanitizer delivery system.

Abstract: This disclosure includes embodiments of apparatuses and methods for simulating the uterus of a human (e.g., for training medical providers to perform sonograms, amniocentesis, ultrasound-guided amniocentesis, and/or other procedures). For example, in at least some embodiments, the apparatus comprises a container with a compartment and an anterior wall that is configured to permit sonogram imaging of the compartment. In some embodiments, the apparatus comprises a container that is configured to be removably coupled to the abdomen of a live human or human model such that the compartment simulates the uterus of the human or model.
