Abstract: A method and apparatus directed to the field of autostereoscopic displays. The method provided is for creating images or image data suitable for use with an autostereoscopic display. The method comprises a projection step and a transformation step for processing item coordinates representing at least one item in a 3D scene to provide images or image data. The transformation step comprises calculating a transformation dependent on the geometry of an autostereoscopic display. The projection step comprises calculating a projection dependent upon a projection plane constructed in the 3D scene. The apparatus comprises an array of apertures and an imaging portion, the imaging portion comprising a plurality of Digital Micromirror Devices.
