Abstract: In a pack of substantially parallel-stacked transportable washers, at least two through-holes are provided in each washer, the two legs of a substantially U-shaped metal or plastic wire being positioned in the two through-holes of the stack of washers. The free ends of the legs projecting beyond the stack are bent over to positions oriented at approximately right angles to the respective legs. By appropriate force on the crosspiece, or on an extension, the wire is pulled back out of the stack of washers, the free ends being restraightened in the process.

Abstract: In a large-area washer (1) there is an aperture for the insertion of a fastener and a bead (16) to stiffen the washer (1). To provide better engagement with a plate and/or web to be fastened, there are engagement components (13) on the underside of the washer (1) which are pressed out of the whole material of the washer (1) and project approximately perpendicularly downwards from it. The engagement components (13) are conical or truncated cones.

Abstract: A package for elongated parts (2) has a supporting element (1) made of a supporting strip (4) and of a tear-off covering strip (5). The supporting strip (4) has openings (6) in which the elongated parts (2) are laid, forming a row of parallel elongated parts. The package may be easily removed by tearing the covering strip (5) along perforated lines (13, 14).

Abstract: A self-drilling fastener includes a fastening element and a plate-shaped drilling insert inserted in a slot of the fastening element. The lateral peripheral surfaces of the insert have channels which extend over the whole width of the insert. Pressed into the channels are edges of jaws which define the slot of the fastening element so that the insert is held in the fastening element by plastic deformation.
Abstract: A device for setting a self-drilling clamping fastener has a fixed external housing, a sleeve-shaped mounting member in which clamping jaws for gripping the shaft of the fastener are retained, a drive sleeve coupled to a rotary drive and a guide sleeve. The guide sleeve and the drive sleeve both are rotatably positioned in the housing. The guide sleeve can be prevented from turning by detent elements movably positioned in the housing. The drive sleeve and the guide sleeve are coupled to each other so that a force during the drilling process is transferred from the drive sleeve to the guide sleeve. The guide sleeve can be rotated together with the mounting member inside the housing in one direction only in a free-wheel fashion.
Abstract: A blind rivet-type clamping fastener includes a deformable sleeve, a drift section insertable into or connectable to the sleeve, and a drilling section. The latter is held on either the sleeve or a drift section so that it can be axially moved towards the free end of the fastener or removed therefrom upon exertion of an axial force onto the drilling section during the setting of the clamping fastener.
Abstract: A screw has an elongated shank and a head. The shank has two threaded portions and at least one unthreaded portion extending therebetween. A plurality of axially spaced grooves formed by the removal of material from the unthreaded portion of the shank are provided therein to enable the screw to withstand transverse forces acting on the head when the screw is screwed in.
