Abstract: A shoring leg is provided with a latch for use in maintaining an end plate of the shoring leg and a jack collar in a predetermined position relative to each another.
The latch comprises a latch member having a slot to receive a mounting bracket which mounts the latch member for pivotal movement relative to the mounting means from a latching position to a release position. The latch member defines a recess adapted, when in the latching position, to receive part of the leg end plate and a corresponding part of an adjacent collar of the jack to retain the end plate and collar in the predetermined position. The latch member is biased into the latching position by a coil spring acting between the leg and the latching member.
Abstract: A scaffolding component comprising an inverted channel member and an integral top part, recesses are provided at the juncture of the channel member and the top part for receiving hooks of a platform.
Abstract: A scaffolding assembly having at least one pair of substantially parallel spaced-apart scaffolding components, each of which extends between a pair of substantially vertical spaced-apart uprights and supports a respective end of a deck plate extending therebetween. Each scaffolding component is adapted to receive a respective end of said deck plate and prevent accidental disengagement of said deck plate due to wind or accidental contact. Each end of the scaffolding component is provided with oppositely directed tongues extending laterally therefrom, said tongues being adapted to engage securing means mounted on each of said uprights.
Abstract: In a frame scaffolding system a guard rail is provided. The guard rail is intended to be positioned adjacent an upper layer of the frame scaffolding, but is initially positioned adjacent a lower layer of the frame scaffolding and can be manoeuvred into position by personnel standing on the lower layer. Vertical members of the scaffolding system are provided with guiding and support assemblies, and the guard rail has elements which co-operate with the guiding and support assemblies. The guard rail is thus guided during movement between the initial lower position and the terminal upper position. Support elements are also provided to support the guard rail at at least one intermediate position between the initial position and the terminal position to facilitate the lifting procedure.
