  • Patent number: 4831323
Abstract: A voltage limiting circuit with two-terminal network character is described which has a sharp-edged limitation characteristic curve and a short response time. According to the invention, this is achieved by means of two current mirror circuits connected to each other in a ring circuit, with a clamping transistor being at the same time a transistor of one of these current mirror circuits. A biasing current is fed from a current source into the remaining elements of the two current mirror circuits, this biasing current subjecting the semiconductor junctions of these current mirror elements to current and charging the diffusion and depletion layer capacitances thereof already prior to the limitation onset. The consequence thereof is a rapid limitation effect when the limit voltages are being reached.

  • Patent number: 4814674
Abstract: A monolithically integrated control circuit (4) for a brushless DC motor (1) comprising a commutation signal source (3) controlled by rotational motor position signals, a driver circuit (TS) controlled in accordance with the commutation signals and serving for applying driving pulses, which result in a rotating magnetic field, to the motor windings, with one driver stage (15A, 15B, 15C, 15D) being provided for each motor winding phase, and comprising, furthermore, a pulse shaping circuit (10) effecting sloping of the driving pulse edges, with the pulse shaping circuit (10) being arranged upstream of the driver circuit (TS) and being connected to an external edge sloping impedance means (C.sub.A, C.sub.B), and the driver stages (15A, 15B, 15C, 15D) being designed as feedback-free amplifier stages fed with driver control pulses (V.sub.CA ; V.sub.CB) that are sloped by means of the pulse shaping circuit (10).

  • Patent number: 4645986
Abstract: The invention relates to a deflectional system of a television set comprising a power transistor and a driving circuit which supplies a deflection current increasing in ramp-shaped manner to a deflection coil. The driving circuit is periodically fed with switching-on pulses of a duration corresponding to the ramp length of the deflecting current. The driving circuit applies an increasing switched-on base current to the power transistor during the switching-on pulse duration, said switched-on base current driving the power transistor into the saturation state during substantially the entire switching-on pulse duration. After termination of the switching-on pulse, the driving circuit controls the power transistor with a switching-off base current which rapidly decreases in relation to the increase of the switched-on base current and finally changes polarity and which effects a rapid return of the power transistor from the saturation state into the blocking state.
