Abstract: A safety footboard for a rail transit station comprises a fixed frame base, a sliding frame, and a footboard member, the footboard member being fixed in the front of the sliding frame. The sliding frame is arranged within the fixed frame base, being in sliding connection with the fixed frame base, and horizontally extending from and retracting to the fixed frame base with the guidance of guide rails and guiding means. A driving motor is fixed on the fixed frame base, and racks are fixed on the sliding frame, the racks being driven by the driving motor, pushing or pulling the sliding frame to extend from or retract to the fixed frame base.
