Abstract: A hair curler is provided and can include a cap having a central opening and a shield arranged around the central opening. The hair curler can also include a base having an annular collar with a central opening therein and a flange extending radially from the annular collar. The flange can be configured to mate with the shield such that the base and the cap enclose the entrapment area and such that the central opening in the cap can be aligned with the central opening in the base. Related styling assemblies and methods of use are also provided.

Abstract: A hair care appliance is provided and includes a diverter configured to divert a portion of airflow from an airflow path through the body into the handle to cool electrical components disposed within the handle. In an exemplary embodiment, a hair care appliance is provided having a handle and a body coupled to the handle. A fan assembly is disposed within the body and is configured to generate an airflow. A first portion of the airflow can flow from an inlet of the body to an outlet of the body. A second portion of the airflow can flow into the handle to cool at least one electrical component provided in the handle.

Abstract: Beverage systems are provided that include a filter unit, a dispensing outlet, a pump to pump the fluid from a fluid source, through the filter unit, to the dispensing outlet, a flow meter to measure a flowrate of the fluid being pumped through the system, and a controller including a processor and a memory storing instructions which, when executed by the processor cause the at least one processor to perform operations comprising: receiving a request to dispense a filtered beverage, operating the pump at a first duty to pump the fluid from the fluid source, through the filter unit, to the dispensing outlet, receiving, via the at least one flow meter, the flowrate of the fluid being pumped, comparing the flowrate to a predetermined flowrate, and operating the pump at a second duty, greater than the first duty, responsive to determining that the flowrate is less than the predetermined flowrate.

Abstract: A cooking system includes a housing having a hollow interior including a cooking zone for receiving food to be cooked, a heating element associated with said housing, and a grill plate having a support surface for supporting food within said hollow interior. The grill plate has a thermal mass sufficient to maintain a temperature required to achieve a Maillard reaction of said food At least a portion of said cooking zone is disposed between said support surface and said heating element. Said heating element is operable to heat said support body to impart contact cooking from said support surface to food supported thereby in said cooking zone.
