Abstract: A method for video coding is described. Signaling of a maximum number of sub-layers for inter-layer prediction is obtained. A sub-layer non-reference picture is also obtained. It is determined whether a value of a temporal identifier of the sub-layer non-reference picture is greater than the maximum number of sub-layers for inter-layer prediction minus 1. The sub-layer non-reference picture is marked as “unused for reference” if the value of the temporal identifier of the sub-layer non-reference picture is greater than the maximum number of sub-layers for inter-layer prediction minus 1. In some cases a sub-layer non-reference picture is also obtained. It is determined whether a value of a temporal identifier of the sub-layer non-reference picture is greater than the maximum number of sub-layers for inter-layer prediction.

Abstract: An evolved Node B (eNB) for demodulation reference signal (DMRS) selection is described. The eNB includes a processor and instructions stored in memory that is in electronic communication with the processor. The eNB determines a DMRS configuration based on a modulation and coding scheme (MCS). The eNB also determines downlink control information (DCI). The DCI includes signaling that indicates the DMRS configuration. The eNB further sends the DCI.

Abstract: Aspects of the present invention relate to methods and systems for fitting a mesh to an image of a document page and correcting a distortion in the image of the document page using the mesh. A rectangular-form mesh may be overlaid on a displayed document image. Corner points in the rectangular-form mesh may be moved to coincide with corner points of a document page in the displayed document image, and a corner-aligned mesh may be overlaid on the displayed document image. A cubic Bezier curve may be fit to the top edge of the document page, a cubic Bezier curve may be fit to the bottom edge of the document page and an edge-aligned mesh may be overlaid on the displayed image. An inverse projective transformation may be applied to the patches of the mesh to correct the distortion in the image of the document page.
Abstract: A computing device having an optimized file system and methods for use therein. File system optimizations include sector-aligned writes, anchored cluster searches, anchored index searches, companion caches dedicated to particular file management data types and predictive cache updates, all of which expedite processing on the computing device. The file system optimizations are especially advantageous for data collection systems where an embedded device is tasked with logging to a target memory data received in a continuous data stream and where none of the streamed data is deleted until after the target memory has been offloaded to another device.

Abstract: A method is provided for forming a solid-state dye-sensitized solar cell (ssDSC) tandem module. The method fabricates a first panel by forming a first plurality of series-connected ssDSC cells overlying the first substrate top surface, with an electrical interface between each ssDSC cell. A second panel is fabricated in the same manner. An anisotropic conductive film (ACF) is formed overlying each electrical interface of the first panel ssDSC cells. Each ACF is aligned to a corresponding electrical interface of the second panel ssDSC cells, and the panels are bound. The result is a ssDSC tandem module comprising a first plurality of series-connected tandem sections, where each tandem section comprises a first panel ssDSC cell connected in parallel with an overlying second panel ssDSC cell. In one variation, the tandem sections include series-connected ssDSC cells.
Abstract: Methods and systems for configuring on touch screen enabled devices custom gestures and custom soft buttons that are equivalent to default gestures configured on such devices allow equivalent custom gestures and soft buttons to be configured seamlessly on such devices without invoking a configuration tool or widget, enable multiple custom gestures and soft buttons equivalent to a particular default gesture to coexist on such devices and permit sets of personal equivalent custom gestures and soft buttons to be saved and loaded on such devices by particular users.
Abstract: A method for establishing multiple radio connections by a user equipment (UE) is described. The method includes establishing a primary radio connection between the UE and a first point on an Evolved Universal Terrestrial Radio Access Network (E-UTRAN). The method also includes receiving a connection control message for a second radio connection with a second point on the E-UTRAN. The method also includes performing a random access procedure for the secondary radio connection in response to receiving the connection control message.
Abstract: A method and system for administering enterprise appliances facilitates maintenance, procurement, deployment and security of enterprise appliances by taking targeted administrative actions in response to detected power anomalies experienced by such appliances. By using detected power anomalies as triggers for targeted administrative actions, rather than waiting for administrators to be notified of problems with enterprise appliances by workers or departments to which such appliances are assigned, problems with enterprise appliances are resolved more quickly and costs to the enterprise arising from such problems are reduced.

Abstract: A User Equipment (UE) for sending feedback is described. The UE includes a processor and instructions stored in memory that is in electronic communication with the processor. The UE receives signaling to configure the UE with multiple serving cells having a first uplink/downlink (UL/DL) configuration for each of the serving cells. If the UE is configured with the multiple serving cells and at least one of the serving cells is configured with additional reconfiguration information that enables dynamic UL/DL reconfiguration, then the UE also determines a downlink (DL)-reference UL/DL configuration for at least one of the serving cells based on the first UL/DL configuration of the at least one serving cell and the additional reconfiguration information of the at least one serving cell. The UE further sends Physical Downlink Shared Channel (PDSCH) Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request Acknowledgement/Negative Acknowledgement (HARQ-ACK) information based on the DL-reference UL/DL configuration.
Abstract: A system and method are provided for generating geometric shapes on a display screen using multiple stages of gesture recognition. The method relies upon a display screen having a touch sensitive interface to accept a first touch input. The method establishes a base position on the display screen in response to recognizing the first touch input being recognized as a first gesture. The touch sensitive interface then accepts a second touch input having a starting point at the base position, and an end point. A geometric shape is interpreted in response to the second touch input being recognized as a second gesture, and the method presents an image of the interpreted geometric shape on the display screen. A human finger, marking device, or both may be used for the touch inputs.
Abstract: Methods are presented for synthesizing metal cyanometallate (MCM). A first method provides a first solution of AXM2Y(CN)Z, to which a second solution including M1 is dropwise added. As a result, a precipitate is formed of ANM1PM2Q(CN)R·FH2O, where N is in the range of 1 to 4. A second method for synthesizing MCM provides a first solution of M2C(CN)B, which is dropwise added to a second solution including M1. As a result, a precipitate is formed of M1[M2S(CN)G]1/T·DH2O, where S/T is greater than or equal to 0.8. Low vacancy MCM materials are also presented.

Abstract: A three-terminal light emitting device (LED) chip, associated fabrication method, and LED array are provided. The method forms an n-doped semiconductor layer overlying a substrate, an active semiconductor layer overlying the n-doped semiconductor layer, and a p-doped semiconductor layer overlying the active semiconductor layer. A trench is formed through the p-doped and active semiconductor layers, exposing the n-doped semiconductor layer. In one aspect, the trench is formed at least part way, but not completely, through the n-doped semiconductor layer. Then, an LED P electrode is formed overlying a first region of the p-doped semiconductor layer, a diode P electrode is formed overlying a second region of the p-doped semiconductor layer that is separated from the first region of the p-doped semiconductor layer by the trench, and an N electrode is formed overlying a top surface of the exposed n-doped semiconductor layer in the trench, shared by the LED and diode.
Abstract: A method for tracking a reference picture on an electronic device is described. The method includes receiving a bitstream. The method also includes decoding a portion of the bitstream to produce a decoded reference picture. The method further includes tracking the decoded reference picture in a decoded picture buffer (DPB) with reduced overhead referencing. The method additionally includes decoding a picture based on the decoded reference picture.
