  • Publication number: 20110103640
Abstract: An image processing apparatus of the present invention includes: a self-similar image storing section 13 that stores a pattern of a self-similar image; a superimposed image data generating section 15 that generates superimposed image data from a self-similar image, based on the pattern of the self-similar image; an image combining section 17 that combines original image data with the superimposed image data; and a control section 11 that controls operations of the above-mentioned sections. The superimposed image data generating section 15 adjusts a pattern of a self-similar image so that a size of a superimposed image corresponds to a draw size of an original image which draw size is determined by the control section 11. It is therefore possible to combine the original image data with the superimposed image data so that the superimposed image is suitably drawn regardless of the draw size of the original image.

  • Patent number: 7936347
Abstract: A driving system of the present invention for use in a displaying device is provided with a pseudo bit-depth extension section. In the pseudo bit-depth extension section, a noise pattern is added to upper-n-bit data of an input signal D0 in m-bit, where (i) m is an integer of 9 or greater, and (ii) n is an integer of 8 or greater, but less than m. Then, upper-n-bit of data D1 thus obtained from the D0 is outputted, as output data D2, from the pseudo bit-depth extension section. The driving system is further provided with an overshoot-driving section for carrying out an overshoot-driving with respect to each of pixels. A noise amount of the noise pattern is 1 or less in 8-bit data, and a calculation in the overshoot-driving section is carried out with n-bit data.

  • Patent number: 7936325
Abstract: In one embodiment of the present invention, a display device is disclosed wherein if a frame luminance is less than a maximum value, the device creates a difference between luminance outputs in the two subframes and sets the luminance difference to a value less than a sub-maximum luminance which is a maximum luminance output in one subframe. With the arrangement, no complete switching of the subframes in which luminance outputs are made occurs at a grayscale level where low luminance replaces high luminance or vice versa. Thus, the grayscale level-luminance curve continues smoothly.

  • Patent number: 7934316
Abstract: An object of the present invention is to provide a charging roller (i) which includes a rubber member whose surface is subjected to a hardening treatment using a solvent containing at least an isocyanate compound and (ii) which can prevent leakage of an ionic conductive agent even if the charging roller is placed under conditions of high temperature and high humidity for a long time. The charging roller is made by forming a rubber layer on a metal core. The rubber layer is an epichlorohydrin based rubber base material to which an ionic conductive agent is added, the rubber layer being subjected to a surface treatment by applying a solution containing the isocyanate compound and heating it. This surface treatment is carried out under such conditions that a coefficient of dynamic friction at a contact portion between the rubber layer and a photoreceptor becomes 0.4 or less.

  • Patent number: 7935599
Abstract: A method is provided for removing reentrant stringers in the fabrication of a nanowire transistor (NWT). The method provides a cylindrical nanostructure with an outside surface axis overlying a substrate surface. The nanostructure includes an insulated semiconductor core. A conductive film is conformally deposited overlying the nanostructure, to function as a gate strap or a combination gate and gate strap. A hard mask insulator is deposited overlying the conductive film and selected regions of the hard mask are anisotropically plasma etched. As a result, a conductive film gate electrode is formed substantially surrounding a cylindrical section of nanostructure. Inadvertently, conductive film reentrant stringers may be formed adjacent the nanostructure outside surface axis, made from the conductive film. The method etches, and so removes the conductive film reentrant stringers.

  • Patent number: 7936468
Abstract: Systems and methods for load balancing toner use of multiple printer devices such that the printer devices more evenly consume their respective toner in the rendering of print jobs. A printer device printing order is dynamically set based on printer toner, wherein the dynamic nature of setting the includes monitoring toner status on each printer device, monitoring toner levels on each printer device, setting the preference order by toner status, setting the preference order by toner level, redirecting print jobs from out-of-toner printer devices to printer devices with toner, redirecting print jobs from low-toner printer devices to printer devices with toner, and/or the like. Accordingly, the printer device printing order is dynamically set according to toner utilization, while still preserving the load balancing of print jobs in the system.
