  • Publication number: 20110012932
Abstract: A display device is disclosed which is capable of suppressing characteristic changes due to a long period of conduction, thereby achieving high-quality video display, and also to provide a drive method therefor. In at least one embodiment, while sequentially activating n first scanning signal line groups G1(1) to G1(n), a predetermined voltage, which is the same as a voltage for turning off a thin-film transistor included in each pixel formation portion in that the polarity thereof is negative and is at a higher level than that voltage, is applied simultaneously to n second scanning signal line groups G2(1) to G2(n). Thereafter, while sequentially activating the n second scanning signal line groups G2(1) to G2(n), the predetermined voltage is applied simultaneously to the n first scanning signal line groups G1(1) to G1(n). By repeating this, charges accumulated in the vicinity of the thin-film transistors are eliminated, thereby suppressing changes in off characteristics thereof.

  • Publication number: 20110013523
Abstract: The present invention reduces a signaling size of an interference overload indicator. A base station includes an interference-overload-indicator generation control sub-system (1000), an interference-overload-indicator generation sub-system (2000), and a transmitting/receiving sub-system (3000). The interference-overload-indicator generation control sub-system (1000) judges whether or not a condition to initiate interference indicator generation is satisfied, and activates the interference-overload-indicator generation sub-system (2000) only when the condition is satisfied. This makes it possible to reduce a signaling size of the interference indicator. For further reducing the signaling size, an interference indicator signaling is generated by a method such as differential coding, state coding, or a bitmap, and transmitted. According to the present invention, an interference overload indicator generation control mechanism is relatively simple and the signaling size of the interference indicator is small.

  • Patent number: 7872774
Abstract: An image processing apparatus executes the processing of updating control information kept in the controlling units included in it without suspending an on-going processing and delaying the execution of a new processing request with less power consumption. When the controlling units are in a sleep mode or in non-energized state, NIC determines whether or not updating of firmware kept in each controlling unit is necessary by communicating with the information delivery server. The NIC controls an energization switching circuit to start up exclusively the controlling unit keeping the firmware determined necessary to be updated and replaces the firmware kept in the started controlling unit with the latest version of firmware obtained from the information delivery server.

  • Patent number: 7872630
Abstract: A liquid crystal display of the present invention facilitates grayscale level transition from a previous frame to a current frame, in such a manner that a modulation driving process section reads out, from one look-up table, corrected image data corresponding to a combination of image data of a previous frame and image data of a current frame and then outputs this corrected image data, irrespective of the ambient temperature. Meanwhile, a temperature circuit controls a heater so as to either stop the heating by the heater when a temperature of the liquid crystal panel exceeds a threshold value which is 1° C. through 1.5° C. higher than a target temperature, or start the heating by the heater when the temperature of the liquid crystal panel goes below a threshold value which is 1° C. through 1.5° C. lower than the target temperature, the target temperature being determined in advance to be in a range between 48° C. and 63° C.

  • Patent number: 7872309
Abstract: A recessed-gate thin-film transistor (RG-TFT) with a self-aligned lightly doped drain (LDD) is provided, along with a corresponding fabrication method. The method deposits an insulator overlying a substrate and etches a trench in the insulator. The trench has a bottom and sidewalls. An active silicon (Si) layer is formed overlying the insulator and trench, with a gate oxide layer over the active Si layer. A recessed gate electrode is then formed in the trench. The TFT is doped and LDD regions are formed in the active Si layer overlying the trench sidewalls. The LDD regions have a length that extends from a top of the trench sidewall, to the trench bottom, with a doping density that decreases in response to the LDD length. Alternately stated, the LDD length is directly related to the depth of the trench.
