Abstract: In the upper part and the lower part of a micro-nano bubble generation section 34 in a micro-nano bubble bathtub 1, two kinds of micro-nano bubbles different in a size distribution are generated by first and second micro-nano bubble generators (submerged pump-type micro-nano bubble generator 2 and spiral flow-type micro-nano bubble generator 10) of two kinds, so that bathtub water containing micro-nano bubbles in a wide size distribution can be produced in a large amount. Some of the water containing micro-nano bubbles generated in the lower part is thrown into the first micro-nano bubble generator (spiral flow-type micro-nano bubble generator 10) in the upper part, so that the spiral flow-type micro-nano bubble generator 10 can generate micro-nano bubbles in a smaller size. Therefore, in this bathtub, micro-nano bubbles abundant in size and large in amount can be produced economically.

Abstract: The human body detection device comprises a pyroelectric-type sensor 7 for detecting presence of a human body and an infrared distance-measuring sensor 2 for detecting a distance to a human body H detected by the pyroelectric-type sensor 7 in combination. The infrared distance-measuring sensor 2 is provided with a plurality of infrared-ray emitting devices 3-0, . . . , 3-4 arranged in various directions of infrared-ray emission I1 for covering the whole detection range of the pyroelectric-type sensor 7. There are also provided a light receiving surface for making infrared rays I1? reflected by a detection object H incident thereon and position sensing devices 4 for outputting a signal indicating a distance to the object H according to a position of the incident light on the light receiving surface. The position sensing device 4 corresponding to a plurality of the infrared-ray emitting devices are housed in one housing 20. This human body detection device is small and low-cost.
Abstract: An illegal data use prevention system includes a registrar which issues first authentication information for a game machine reproducing data and second authentication information for a user-identifying IC card. The data is identified by the first authentication information and the second authentication information. The game machine contains the first authentication information and, for example, executes a game program in accordance with a result of determination as to whether the IC card contains the second authentication information. Thus, illegal use of data is effectively prevented.
Abstract: A semiconductor device has anisotropically formed via holes through a PMD layer. The anisotropic geometry of the via holes results in the diameter of a via hole over a gate structure being equal to the diameter of a via hole not over the gate structure. The via holes are formed by depositing a silicon layer and an antireflective layer over the PMD layer. The silicon layer and the antireflective layer are etched to have holes with a regular taper. The holes through the PMD are anisotropically etched so as to have straight walls.
Abstract: The invention is directed to a method and apparatus for building a composite print job. According to a method, at least first and second files are received in respective printer independent file formats. The first and second files are printed to a logical printing device in a printer dependent file format appropriate for a physical printing device. The first and second files are thereafter combined as a composite print job, to prepare the first and second files for printing to the physical printing device.

Abstract: A portable terminal device and a program for reading information, which can read a code correctly with simple operations, and a recording medium having the program recorded thereon. A portable telephone with a camera has a camera for inputting information of an image of interest, a small light, which emits light through the operation of ON/OFF button while reading a bar code, an LCD display part for displaying information, and a control part including a CPU for controlling the whole device. The control part switches photography modes depending on the existence of objects such as natural images or bar codes. The control part recognizes a bar code when the device switches to a mode for bar code photography. Then, the device notifies a user of the results of the recognition and then performs a predetermined process based on the content of the recognition.

Abstract: In a gradation voltage generation circuit used in a video signal line driving circuit for driving video signal lines of a liquid crystal display device by time division based on switching control signals, a first variable resistor circuit is connected between one terminal of a voltage divider circuit for generating a gradation voltage group and a power source line for supplying a high-level voltage, and a second variable resistor circuit is connected between the other terminal of the voltage divider circuit and a power source line for supplying a low-level voltage. The resistances of the variable resistor circuits are switched based on the switching control signal. Thus, in the periods in which the video signal lines respectively connected to R, G and B pixel formation portions are driven, gradation voltages that are adapted to the gradation reproducibility for R, G and B are outputted respectively.

Abstract: In a method for producing a nitride semiconductor light-emitting device according to the present invention, first, a nitride semiconductor substrate having groove portions formed is prepared. An underlying layer comprising nitride semiconductor is formed on the nitride semiconductor substrate including the side walls of the groove portions, in such a manner that the underlying layer has a crystal surface in each of the groove portions and the crystal surface is tilted at an angle of from 53.5° to 63.4° with respect to the surface of the substrate. Over the underlying layer, a light-emitting-device structure composed of a lower cladding layer containing Al, an active layer, and an upper cladding layer containing Al is formed. According to the present invention, thickness nonuniformity and lack of surface flatness, which occur when accumulating a layer with light-emitting-device structure of nitride semiconductor over the nitride semiconductor substrate, are alleviated while inhibiting occurrence of cracking.
Abstract: In a semiconductor storage device with cross point type arrays of memory cells including variable resistor elements, a selected data line and unselected data lines are supplied with a row selecting potential and a row unselecting potential through a data line selecting transistor respectively, a selected bit line and unselected bit lines are supplied with a column selecting potential and a column unselecting potential through a bit line selecting transistor respectively. Data lines and bit lines are separately driven so that when the data line selecting transistor is higher in the current driving capability than the bit line selecting transistor, a second bias voltage between the row unselecting potential and column selecting potential is lower than a first bias voltage between the row selecting potential and column unselecting potential, in the opposite case, the first bias voltage is lower than the second voltage.
