Abstract: An LED chip (3) is disposed in a recessed portion (21p) formed by bending a metal lead frame (2). A reflector (4) has a resin reflection surface (4a) and the recessed portion (21p) has a metal reflection surface (21a). When the inclination angle of at least one metal reflection surface (21a) is ?s2(°), the resin reflection surface (4a) has a sloped resin surface with an inclination angle of ?s1(°) that is smaller than ?s2(°). With ?c(°) defined as the critical angle of light emitted from an LED chip (3) and incident on the interface between a light-transmissive resin (5) and an air layer, the sloped resin surface and metal reflection surface having a relationship of ?s1<?s2, satisfies both a conditional expression (1): 45°??c/2<?s1<?c and a conditional expression (2): 35°??s2?55°.
Abstract: A transition metal hexacyanoferrate (TMH) cathode battery is provided. The battery has a AxMn[Fe(CN)6]y.zH2O cathode, where the A cations are either alkali or alkaline-earth cations, such as sodium or potassium, where x is in the range of 1 to 2, where y is in the range of 0.5 to 1, and where z is in the range of 0 to 3.5. The AxMn[Fe(CN)6]y.zH2O has a rhombohedral crystal structure with Mn2+/3+ and Fe2+/3+ having the same reduction/oxidation potential. The battery also has an electrolyte, and anode made of an A metal, an A composite, or a material that can host A atoms. The battery has a single plateau charging curve, where a single plateau charging curve is defined as a constant charging voltage slope between 15% and 85% battery charge capacity. Fabrication methods are also provided.

Abstract: The invention provides human papillomavirus (HPV) antigen formulations which show increased antigen stability. More specifically, the invention provides stable HPV formulations comprising HPV virus-like particles (VLPs) bound to an aluminum salt adjuvant and further comprise a combination of sucrose and mannitol. The vaccine formulations of the invention are stable following freeze-thaw and freeze-drying. Also provided are lyophilized and frozen HPV vaccine formulations comprising HPV VLPs of at least one HPV type adsorbed onto an aluminum salt adjuvant, sucrose, and mannitol. Methods of making the stable vaccine formulations of the invention are also provided.

Abstract: An aim of the present invention is to provide a technology to inhibit degradation phenomena of TFTs in an imaging panel having such TFTs in each pixel. The imaging panel captures scintillation light, which are X-rays that have passed through a specimen and been converted by a scintillator. The imaging panel includes a plurality of gate lines and a plurality of data lines. The imaging panel includes a conversion element that converts scintillation light to electric charge, a thin film transistor connected to the gate line, data line, and conversion element, and a metal wiring line connecting to the conversion element and supplying a bias voltage to the conversion element. The metal wiring line is positioned approximately parallel to the data line so as to overlap the top of the thin film transistor.
Abstract: An initial current ratio calculation unit obtains an initial current ratio for each pixel based on a current measurement result by a data line drive/current measurement circuit. A light emission current efficiency calculation unit obtains a light emission current efficiency for each pixel referring to an LUT, based on a measured operating temperature and the initial current ratio. A first correction unit corrects a video signal for each pixel in view of characteristics of each pixel, based on the current measurement result and the light emission current efficiency. A second correction unit obtains a correction term for each pixel in view of a difference in the light emission current efficiency compared to neighboring pixels, based on a two-dimensional distribution of the light emission current efficiency. The correction term obtained by the second correction unit is added to the video signal corrected to obtain a corrected video signal.
