  • Patent number: 9086480
Abstract: A lens frame, made from metal, retaining a light-emitting lens and a light-receiving lens is retained between a second mold and a third mold both of which are made from light-shielding resins. Anchors are formed by filling light-shielding resin for forming the third mold into fixing slots formed in an upper surface of the second mold and through holes formed in the lens frame. Since the lens frame is made from metal, thermal expansion of the lens frame is hardly caused by ambient temperature changes and self-heating. This causes little difference in the amount of change in difference between the lenses. Further, the lens frame is fixed with anchors between the second mold and the third mold. This suppresses the occurrence of sliding caused by difference in thermal expansion coefficient between the lens frame and the second and third molds.

  • Patent number: 9088796
Abstract: A decoder receives a bitstream containing quantized coefficients representative of blocks of video representative of a plurality of pixels and decodes the bitstream using context adaptive binary arithmetic coding that includes at least two decoding modes, the first mode decoding the bitstream based upon a probability estimate which is based upon at least one of spatially and temporally adjacent syntax element values to a current syntax element being decoded, the second mode decoding the bitstream not based upon a probability estimate based upon other syntax elements to the current syntax element being decoded. The coding decodes the current syntax element using the first mode if the current syntax element is intra-coded and selecting between sets probable modes with different probabilities. The coding decodes the current syntax element using the second mode if the current syntax element is intra-coded and if selecting among one of the second set of probable modes.

  • Patent number: 9086672
Abstract: An image forming apparatus (10) capable of releasing pressure of toner accumulated between photoreceptor drums and cleaning blades without affecting the life of the photoreceptor drums includes photoreceptor drums (21A to 21D), an intermediate transfer belt (31), cleaning blades (250A to 250D), a cam mechanism (36), and a drive motor (26). The photoreceptor drums (21B to 21D) bear a toner image. The toner image is transferred from the photoreceptor drums (21A to 21D) to the intermediate transfer belt. The cleaning blades (250A to 250D) remove toner remaining on the photoreceptor drums (21A to 21D) after the toner image transfer. The cam mechanism (36) switches, after an image forming process, a contact state of the photoreceptor drums (21A to 21D) and the intermediate transfer belt (31) to a separation state. The drive motor (26) rotates the photoreceptor drums (21B to 21D) backward after switching the contact state to the separation state.

  • Publication number: 20150199951
Abstract: A noise event suppression technique for a monitoring system detects a noise event in a signal waveform when a focal sample in the waveform has an amplitude greater than an amplitude of algorithmically determined earlier and later samples in the waveform that are noncontiguous with the focal sample. When the monitoring system detects the noise event, the monitoring system reduces the amplitude of the focal sample to an amplitude between those of the earlier and later samples. The monitoring system outputs data determined using the waveform once noise events have been adequately suppressed.

  • Patent number: 9081043
Abstract: A system and method are provided for calculating power using a voltage waveform shape measurement from a contactless sensor. An electrically conductive medium carries alternating current (AC) electrical current, associated with an AC voltage, from a source node to a destination node. AC current is measured through the electrically conductive medium. Using a contactless sensor, an AC voltage waveform shape is measured. The power usage at the destination node is calculated in response to the AC current measurement, the measurement of the AC voltage waveform shape, and an AC voltage potential. For simplicity, the AC current and AC voltage waveform shape may both be measured at a first node located between the source node and the destination node. The AC voltage potential used in the power usage calculation may be an estimate, an actual measurement, or a value supplied by an external source (e.g., the power utility).
