  • Patent number: 9024854
Abstract: A liquid crystal display device includes a gate driver, a source driver and a common driver. An input video signal is stored in a line memory and a gray scale with which an applied voltage becomes highest is detected from data corresponding to 1 line among the signal. A common electrode is driven by a common voltage being reduced in accordance with the gray scale and having a low effective value. The driver is driven by an output controlled in accordance with the voltage thus reduced. A voltage applied to a common electrode is set by using a LUT and a common voltage is set by using a LUT. It is therefore possible to provide a liquid crystal display device and a method of driving the liquid crystal display device, each of which can reduce power consumption.

  • Patent number: 9025548
Abstract: A communication system comprises a downlink indicator channel (DL1) for the transmission of a indicator signal (302) indicating that a data packet (202) is scheduled to be transmitted on a downlink data channel (DLz) from a primary station to a secondary station. In operation, on detection of the indicator signal, the secondary station transmits a status signal, for example a negative acknowledgement signal (204), on an uplink channel (UL) to the primary station immediately before transmission of a positive (206) or negative acknowledgement signal to indicate the status of the received data packet. By providing the primary station with two chances to detect the case where the secondary station fails to detect the indicator signal, peak power requirements of the uplink channel can be reduced, thereby reducing system interference levels.

  • Patent number: 9022589
Abstract: A simulated sunlight irradiation apparatus (100) has transmittance adjustment members (13a and 13b) provided above an irradiation surface of a light guide plate (10) and in the vicinity of either incident face of the light guide plate (10) on which simulated sunlight is incident. The transmittance adjustment members (13a and 13b) adjust the transmittance of light in a portion of a wavelength band of simulated sunlight that is emitted from the irradiation surface of the light guide plate (10), thus bringing about improvement in spectral coincidence of the simulated sunlight. This provides a simulated sunlight irradiation apparatus that can radiate simulated sunlight with high spectral coincidence.

  • Patent number: 9023683
Abstract: A method is provided for forming an epoxy-based planarization layer overlying an organic semiconductor (OSC) film. Generally, the method forms a fluoropolymer passivation layer overlying the OSC layer. A photopatternable adhesion layer is formed overlying the fluoropolymer passivation layer, and patterned. A photopatternable planarization layer, comprising an epoxy-based organic resin, is formed overlying the photopatternable adhesion layer and patterned to expose the fluoropolymer passivation layer. Then, the fluoropolymer passivation layer is plasma etched to expose the OSC layer. More explicitly, the method can be used to fabricate a bottom gate or top gate organic thin-film transistor (OTFT). Top gate and bottom gate OTFT devices are also provided.
