  • Patent number: 11119231
Abstract: A method for generating a plurality of structural models for a geological setting involves identifying a poorly imaged portion of an input seismic data set. A set of geologically valid kinematic base models are selected to define a kinematic evolution scenario. A correspond set of kinematic base model parameters is defined for the models. A structural model is generated for both a well-imaged portion of the seismic data and the poorly imaged portion. A misfit between the input horizons and the and the modeled horizons is calculated and steps are repeated for a predetermined number of iterations to produce a best-fit model. The steps are repeated then to produce a plurality of best-fit models of geologically plausible solutions for the geological setting. The method is particularly suitable for complex geological settings.

  • Patent number: 11119025
Abstract: The present invention provides a method for determining the porosity of rock from a digital image of the rock. A three-dimensional image of a rock is obtained and segmented, and an image porosity is determined from the segmented image of the rock. A porosity correction parameter is obtained from a non-wetting liquid capillary pressure curve derived from the segmented image, and the porosity correction parameter is applied to the image porosity to obtain a corrected porosity of the rock.

  • Patent number: 11093235
Abstract: A staged application may be transitioned, or hot swapped, to live application, that is, the staged version of an application is transited to the live version of an application. The staged version may nm in estimation mode alongside the live version. Only one version of an application may be active in a given run time workspace. The staged version may be initialized with one or more parameters or variables. The staged version may be tested or simulations may be performed to ensure the staged version is ready to be transitioned to a live version. The staged version may execute at a lower priority to ensure that the efficiency and operations of the live version are not disturbed. Once the staged version has been transitioned, the replaced live version or another version may be transitioned to the staged version. The transitioned staged version and the replaced live version may be archived.
