    Abstract: Provided are a positive electrode material for lithium ion batteries and a process for preparing the same. The positive electrode material for lithium ion batteries comprises a composite positive electrode material consists of LiCoO2 and an auxiliary positive electrode material, the general formula of the auxiliary positive electrode material is LiCo1-x-yNixMnyO2, wherein 0<x<0.9, 0<y<0.9, 0<x+y<0.9, and the LiCoO2 is a modified LiCoO2 coated with an Al2O3 film. The overcharge performance of the batteries can be significantly increased and the use amount of the overcharge additive can be reduced by using the positive electrode material so as to its improve the cycle performance of the batteries and improve the anti-overcharge safety in the special applications and the charging conditions.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a method for preparing multiple metal oxides and intermediate compound, i.e. spherical nickelous hydroxide which is lopped. The intermediate compound is prepared by: mixing bivalent nickel salt, cobalt salt, ammonia water and ammonium salt to form solution containing complex; then adding the said solution containing complex with the mixture solution of metal salt(s) and alkali into reaction vessel in parallel flow, stirring to form precipitate of spherical nickelous hydroxide which is dopped, and washing to remove the impurities. The resulting spherical nickelous hydroxide which is dopped, as an intermediate compound, can be used to produce multiple metal oxides. The resulting multiple metal oxides can be used as anode active material. The spherical nickelous hydroxide has advantages of uniform size and narrow size distribution. The multiple metal oxides has high electric conductivity and cycle performance, particularly, is suitable to be used as anode material.

    Abstract: An apparatus for detecting the sealability of a lithium ion cell comprises a container which is filled with a detecting liquid, a clamp and a high-pressure-gas joint member. The clamp can carry a lithium ion cell to be detected and put it into said container. One end of the high-pressure-gas joint member is connected to an injecting hole of the lithium ion cell to be detected and the other end is connected to a high-pressure gas supply. The detecting apparatus also comprises an elevator which can move the lithium ion cell into and out the detecting liquid within the container.

    Abstract: A battery enveloping assembly and a battery incorporating such an enveloping assembly are disclosed. The enveloping assembly comprises an explosion-proof assembly and an enveloping plate. A casing extends downwardly from the enveloping plate. A cavity configured to house the explosion-proof assembly is formed in the casing.
