Abstract: A method is provided for a 3D user interaction system containing a terminal device and an operating pen. The method includes displaying a 3D user interface including a 3D icon on a screen of the terminal device, and determining 3D position of a contact portion of the operating pen based on obtained 3D position information of the contact portion. The method also includes comparing the 3D position of the contact portion and 3D position of a surface of the 3D icon, determining whether there is a virtual touch between the operating pen and the 3D icon. Further, the method includes, when there is the virtual touch between the operating pen and the 3D icon, adjusting parallax of the 3D icon to simulate a visual change of the 3D icon being pressed, and indicating a user interaction to the terminal device corresponding to the virtual touch.

  • Patent number: 8223279
Abstract: A three-dimensional (3D) display system is provided for displaying a 3D image. The 3D image includes at least a first image and a second image, with a parallax between the first image and the second image. The 3D display system includes a display device, and a liquid crystal lens array. Further, the display device is configured to display at least two combined images of the 3D image in a single display period, and each of the two combined images includes a part of the first image and a part of the second image. The liquid crystal lens array has a plurality of lens units configured to separate the part of the first image and the part of the second image in each of the two combined images into predetermined viewing directions, respectively, such that a complete first image and a complete second image are displayed without losing resolution.

  • Publication number: 20120127271
Abstract: A method is provided for a stereo video capture system. The stereo video system includes a stereo video monitor, a control platform, and a three-dimensional (3D) capture imaging device. The method includes capturing at least a first image and a second image, with a parallax between the first image and the second image based on a first parallax configuration. The method also includes receiving the first and second images; and calculating a value of at least one parallax setting parameter associated with the first and second images and corresponding to the first parallax configuration. Further, the method includes determining whether the value is within a pre-configured range. When the value is out of the pre-configured range, the method includes converting the first parallax configuration into a second parallax configuration. The method also includes sending, the second parallax configuration to the 3D imaging capture device, and adopting the second parallax configuration in operation.

  • Publication number: 20120019635
Abstract: A method is provided for a three-dimensional (3D) display system. The method includes obtaining a plurality of original images of a plurality of viewpoints in a 3D image for display, and adjusting an average parallax value between at least two of the plurality of original images based on a current size of a display window on a display device configured to display the 3D image. The method also includes reconstructing 3D scene information of the 3D image, and obtaining an image for each of the plurality of viewpoints and at least one new viewpoint based on the reconstructed 3D scene information. Further, the method includes combining the image of each viewpoint into a new 3D image with a desired average parallax, and sending the new 3D image to the display device for 3D display.
