Abstract: The invention relates to crystalline lithium complexes of N-(1-hydroxymethyl-2,3-dihydroxypropyl)-1,4,7-triscarboxymethyl-1,4,7,10 tetraazacyclododecane, their production and the recovery of the salt-free gadolinium complex of N-(1-hydroxymethyl-2,3-dihydroxypropyl)-1,4,7-triscarboxymethyl-1,4,7,10 tetraazacyclododecane from the latter without the use of ion exchangers.

Abstract: Compounds of the general formula I ##STR1## are described, in which x represents an oxygen atom or the hydroxyimino grouping >N.about.OH,R.sup.1 represents a hydrogen atom or a methyl group,G represents a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom or a C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkyl radical, when M and Q are hydrogen atoms or together are an additional bond,Q represents a C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkyl radical when M and G are hydrogen atoms, orG and M together represent a methylene or ethylene group when Q is a hydrogen atom,and R.sup.2, R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 have the meanings given in the description.The novel compounds have pronounced antigestagenic and also antiglucocorticoid, antimineralocorticoid and antiandrogenic properties and are suitable for the preparation of medicaments.

Abstract: 2-Amino-1-(1,3-dioxolan-4-yl)ethanol compounds of formula (I) ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are identical or different and can be hydrogen or a lower alkyl group of 1-4 carbon atoms; or when R.sup.2 is an alkyl group of 1-4 carbon atoms, R.sup.1 can also be an alkoxy group of 1-4 carbon atoms; or R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 combined form an alkylene residue of 5 or 6 carbon atoms,are especially suited as intermediates in the production of opacifying compounds useful in X-ray contrast media.
