  • Patent number: 12232603
Abstract: A rotatable connector formed from two parts, each comprising a body extending from a connecting head having a first face and an opposed second face, the second face having an arcuate tail section on an outer perimeter edge and shaped to be received by a tail socket defined between the first face and a pin extending from a proximal end of the body. When the two parts are engaged, the connecting heads are coaxial to define an axis of rotation. When the parts are rotated on the axis relative to one another, the tail section of the first part travels through the tail socket of the second part and the tail section of the second part travels through the tail socket of the first part, thereby connecting the two parts together. When the parts are rotated in the opposite direction, the parts are disconnected from each other.

  • Patent number: 12151141
Abstract: A folding grappling hook has a blade and a handle. The blade has a hinge end and a hook at the other end. The handle has two plates sandwiching a long spacer and a short spacer, the spacers forming an aperture bounded by the plates, long spacer, and short spacer. The blade and handle are attached at a hinge so that they freely pivot relative to each other between a closed configuration where the hook is sheathed within the aperture and a deployed configuration where the blade is pivoted out of the handle to a deployed stop. In the deployed stop, a finger on the long spacer engages a circumferential groove in the blade, and as the blade pivots away from the handle, the groove rotates until the finger contacts the end of the groove.

  • Patent number: 12128258
Abstract: A descent device for controlling descent on a rope having a housing, a cam, a lever, a linkage, a brake, and an eye. The housing is a pair of opposed plates separated by spacers, three of which operate as axles for the cam, lever, and brake. The cam has a rope track that extends around the perimeter of the cam at least 540° but not more than about 650°. A hump in the rope track forms a pinch point with a housing spacer. The lever rotates the cam via a linkage between a payout position where the rope can move freely through the device, a braking position where the rope is pinched at the pinch point and a cleat of the brake moves lightly to the rope, and a panic position where the rope is pinched by the brake cleat.

  • Patent number: 12035791
Abstract: An automatically opening box comprising a rectangular base formed from two rectangular panels joined by a foldable spine. A pair of opposed sides extend upwardly from the base at base corners perpendicular to the spine, each having a vertical fold aligned with the spine. A pair of opposed sides extend upwardly from edges of the base at base corners parallel to the spine. Adjacent sides are connected at side corners. At least two side corners include sprung hinges. Both sides of one of the pairs of opposed sides having diagonal folds. The box has a collapsed configuration where both pairs of opposed sides are folded down to be parallel to the base, the base is folded along the spine and vertical folds, and a fastener secures the box in the collapsed configuration, and a deployed configuration where the fastener is released and the sprung hinges deploy the sides and base.

  • Patent number: 11944853
Abstract: A rope anchor with a J-shaped a body having a hook and spine. The end of the spine has an attachment hole for a rope and an elongated, teardrop-shaped rope slot that is either enclosed or gated. The gate is biased closed to span the open side of the rope slot and pushed opened to allow access for a rope. A tip, composed of a flat chip of metallic material, fits into a slot at the end of the hook. The tip is generally triangular with two or three sharp corners, or square or rectangular with four sharp corners. The slot orients the tip so that only one of the sharp corners is exposed, or so that two adjacent sharp corners are exposed. When an exposed sharp corner is not suitable for use, the tip can be reoriented to expose a different sharp corner.

  • Patent number: 11629750
Abstract: A snap hook with front and rear locks that must be disengaged for the gate to open. The body has a base and a J-shaped hook. A gate has two parallel, spaced fingers extending from an end of a gate arm. As the gate pivots between open and closed positions, a stop pin extending between the arms and through a curved slot in the body slides within the curved slot. A front lock pivots between a locking position, where shoulders in the gate arms abut an edge on the front lock, preventing the gate from pivoting open, and an unlocking position, where the shoulder does not abut the front lock edge. The rear lock pivots between a locking position, where the curved slots on the rear lock are not aligned with body curved slot, and an unlocking position, where the curved slots are aligned, and the gate can pivot open.

  • Patent number: 11470951
Abstract: A tool holder with a J-shaped body. A gate includes an arm that is pivotally attached to a finger at the top of the body. The gate pivots between a closed position where the gate spans the opening between the two free ends of the body, an inside position where the gate is pivoted into the inside the body, and an outside position where gate is pivoted to outside the body. A biasing mechanism biases the gate to the closed position. An optional gate lock prevents the gate from opening when engaged. A barrel either rotates or slides, depending in the configuration, on the arm between an unlocked position where the gate can move between the inside, closed, and outside positions, and a locked position where the gate is retained in the closed position. An attachment secures the tool holder to flat webbing.

  • Patent number: 11125292
Abstract: A rigid tether for use with a friction brake. The tether has a rigid handle with a brake hole at one end designed for mounting a friction brake to rotate about the brake hole. A pulley arm with pulley is attached to rotate about the other end of the handle. The pulley arm is two parallel plates, a fixed plate and a gate plate, with an axle between them on which is mounted the pulley. The plates, pulley, and handle define a rope slot. The gate plate can pivot on the axle to provide access to the rope slot.

  • Patent number: 10006737
Abstract: A trigger assembly for a projectile launcher with a hinged cuff that attaches to the launcher pole using a quick-release mechanism. A trigger mechanism has a elongated finger, one end of which is bent 90° to a stem that is pivotally mounted. One end of a release bar is pivotally mounted to the stem bend such that pulling the trigger pulls the release bar backwardly. A pivotally-mounted catch has an arm that forms a notch for the launcher pouch loop. The catch is held in the capture position by the release arm holding against a ledge on the catch. Pulling the trigger causes the release arm to release the catch. A pivotally-mounted safety latch has a finger with a notch that hooks onto a pin in the trigger to prevent pulling the trigger. A latch release lever enables the user to disengage the latch from the pin.
