Abstract: A method for knitting a shoe upper capable of forming a new stretch preventing section different from a conventional stretch preventing section, and a shoe upper obtained through such knitting method are provided. The shoe upper including a base knitted fabric portion (1F) that covers a foot of a wearer is knitted. In the knitting, a stretch preventing section (20) configured by a knitted fabric of a plain structure is knitted, where one end in a wale direction is connected to the base knitted fabric portion (1F) and another end in the wale direction is not connected to the base knitted fabric portion (1F). The stretch preventing section (20) in which one end is fixed and the other end is not fixed is curled to a tubular shape. The curled stretch preventing section (20) is thicker than the other portions, thus suppressing the stretch of the shoe upper.

  • Patent number: 8135489
Abstract: The presence or absence of putting round of a yarn is detected according to whether carriers are positioned on a near side or a far side and according to the relationship of connection between loops, and the result is displayed on a monitor. On the monitor, for example, the degree of the deformation of the yarn is changed according to the presence or absence of putting round when the yarn is touched, or a color is changed according to the presence or absence of putting round. The presence or absence of putting round of the yarn can be detected and then displayed to a user.

  • Patent number: 7950314
Abstract: At the time of cutting stacked sheet members, a knife or a punch pierces the sheet members at positions such as along a cutting line, in a region outside the cutting line, or in a seam allowance inside the cutting line. By moving the knife or the punch vertically, heat is applied to the sheet members such that the seam members are welded (i.e., fused) together vertically. Even if at the time of cutting stacked sheet members having low air permeability, it is possible to prevent warpage or slippage of the sheet members, and cutting is performed accurately.

  • Patent number: 7912571
Abstract: The shape of a leather sheet is inputted though a digitizer. The shape of the leather sheet is disposed inside a rectangle, and dummy parts are arranged around the leather sheet. Assuming the dummy parts as arranged parts, other parts are blocked and other parts are arranged inside the shape of the leather sheet. Attributes such as the orientation and presence/absence of the scratch are added to the shape data on the leather sheet, and parts are so arranged as to match the orientation and scratch allowability suited to the parts. Even a patterning device which handles only a rectangular shape can produce patterns on a sheet of irregular shape such as a leather sheet.

  • Patent number: 7800626
Abstract: The center line and lines at the right and left end parts are inputted to a base image from which a texture image is to be mapped, and a position of the base image closest to the view point is inputted as a point closest to the user. Right side of the point closest to the user of the body is approximated by one quarter of circle, and the left side is approximated by another quarter of circle so as to generate an elliptical arc representative of the horizontal cross-sectional shape of the body. The texture image is then mapped to the body using that elliptical arc. Thus mapping of the texture image to the body can be performed easily.

  • Patent number: 7664564
Abstract: A setting area is stored in association with the external shape of a knitted fabric, and the setting area is altered as the external shape is altered. A unit pattern is vertically copied repeatedly in the setting area. When setting patterns exist on both sides of the boundary between front and rear knitted fabrics, the boundary being a start point of circumferential formation, the setting pattern on the start section side is shifted upward by one course. The range for providing the setting pattern therein can be altered automatically when the external shape of the knitted fabric is altered. Furthermore, the setting pattern does not become discontinuous in a course direction at the boundary between the front and rear knitted fabrics.

  • Patent number: 7640770
Abstract: In one embodiment of the present application, a knitting method is disclosed for a knitting fabric capable of eliminating the need of stitch transfer during knitting and easily knitting even a thick and less stretchable knitting fabric. Three types of stitching including knits marked with “O,” tacks marked with “V,” and missings marked with “-” are knitted repeatedly in a course direction and a wale direction. The thickness of the clothing fabric of a knitted product is 1.5 times that by plain knitting or thicker which is equal to a thickness obtained by rib knitting. The elongation of the knitted product in the course direction is approximately 1.5 times that by the other methods which is approximately half an elongation obtained by plain knitting which is approximately three times that by the other methods. The elongation of the knitted product in the wale direction is approximately 1.7 to 1.8 times that obtained by the other methods which is equal to an elongation obtained by plain knitting.

  • Patent number: 7643898
Abstract: A decision is made as to whether a fabric to be knitted is tubular or flat, and density is corrected such that knitting-start density is smaller and knitting-end density is larger for a tubular fabric. Knitting-start density is larger and knitting-end density is smaller for a flat fabric. A variable density section is provided between the end part and the central part of the fabric thus correcting the density gradually. Stitches at the end part of the fabric are prevented from becoming uneven as compared with the stitches in the central part without requiring additional hardware.

  • Patent number: 7549361
Abstract: A vibration damping device is described that dampens vibration produced during the conversion of rotational motion into reciprocal motion. The damping is performed using a simple structure wherein first and second conversion mechanisms are symmetrically arranged with respect to a plane of symmetry, first and second rotating shafts rotate opposite to each other at a constant speed, and the rotational motion is converted into reciprocal motion. The total of mass acting on gravity centers of a first balancer and a second balancer is approximately equal to the total of mass reciprocally driven by a first driving shaft and a second driving shaft. Both gravity centers are positioned 180 degrees to the first driving shaft and second driving shaft across the axes of the first rotating shaft and second rotating shaft. As a consequence, the forces in the direction of an axis can be balanced suppressing vibration.

  • Patent number: 7493188
Abstract: An object of at least one embodiment of the present invention is to stably feed a yarn by suppressing the effect of inertia in a buffer mechanism provided in a yarn feeding path. In at least one embodiment, a yarn feeder of the weft knitting machine feeds a knitting yarn from either of ends of a needle bed through a yarn feeding member to a knitting needle which carries out knitting motion based on knitting data while reciprocating the yarn feeding member in a longitudinal direction of the needle bed. A buffer rod is provided in the feeding path for the knitting yarn. Before the yarn feeding member starts to feed the knitting yarn to the knitting needle. a yarn feed controller carries out control to feed out the yarn to the buffer rod beforehand in a moving direction in which the feeding path is extended and to pull back the yarn stored in the buffer rod in a moving direction in which the feeding path is reduced.

  • Patent number: 7493245
Abstract: An object of the invention is to provide a simulation method and a simulation apparatus of the image of a twisted yarn capable of forming an image close to the actuality. When the images of twisted threads (1, 2) are inputted, abstracted models (3, 4) of the twisted yarns having a constant elliptical cross-section are obtained as shown in (b). A projected image (6) of the twisted yarns as shown in (c) is obtained when the models shown in (b) are viewed from the right side and one of two abstracted models (3, 4) located on the left side is concealed. The projected image (6) of the twisted yarns is formed by copying the images of the twisted yarns (1, 2) on to parts corresponding to the abstracted models (3, 4) of respective twisted yarns.
