  • Patent number: 6872348
Abstract: An air passage switching system includes a switching door that is disposed rotatably in a case to open and close an air passage of the case. The switching door includes a door body, a rotation shaft provided in the door body, and a seal member made of an elastomer and adhering to an outer peripheral portion of the door body. The seal member contacts on a sealing surface of the case when the switching door closes the air passage. A plurality of recess portions are formed on the outer peripheral portion of the door body to be arranged in an outer peripheral direction. Thus, adhesion between the door body and the seal member can be strengthened.

  • Patent number: 6676397
Abstract: In an air passage switching door, a packing material having a size approximately corresponding to a plate surface of a door base member is used, and the door base member is crossed with the packing material at a portion around a rotation shaft for rotating the door base member, so that both plate portions of the door base member are bonded to opposite surfaces of the packing material at different areas of the packing material. Accordingly, the air passage switching door can be manufactured using the single packing material.

  • Patent number: 6641768
Abstract: In a method for manufacturing an air passage switching door with a seal member extending along an outer peripheral portion of a door body, when a melted elastic material for forming the seal member is injected into a mold space from plural injection gates, a flow length of the melted elastic material is set to be equal or smaller than 40 mm. Accordingly, even when the method is used for forming the air passage switching door where a length of one side seal member extending along the outer peripheral portion at one side of a rotation shaft is equal to or larger than 100 mm and a thickness of the seal member is equal to or smaller than 2.0 mm, a deformation of the seal member due to an inner shrinking force can be sufficiently restricted.

  • Patent number: 6193600
Abstract: An air passage switching system includes a case forming an air passage having an opening portion, and a butterfly door for opening and closing the opening. The door includes a door body portion made of a material having a high rigidity, and a seal member attached to the door body. The seal member is made of an elastic material, and is formed into a thin-plate shape to extend from an outer peripheral portion of the door body portion toward an outer side. The seal member of the door is press-fitted to a case seal surface around the opening portion along a seal line (D), so that the opening portion is closed. The door is set in such a manner that an inner peripheral curvature radius (RC2) of a corner portion of the case seal surface on the seal line is larger than an outer peripheral curvature radius (RD) of the seal member on the corner portion. Thus, the air passage switching system prevents air leak due to a deformation of the seal member while being produced in low cost.

  • Patent number: 6047951
Abstract: An air passage switching system includes a case forming an air passage, and a butterfly door for opening and closing the air passage. The door includes a door body, a rotation shaft for rotating the door body, and a seal member attached to the door body. A link member is connected to a first end of the rotation shaft, and the first end of the rotation shaft is rotatably held in a shaft receiving portion of the case through the link member. A first cylindrical portion is formed in the door body concentrically with the rotation shaft at an outer peripheral side of the first end, and a second cylindrical portion protruding to a side of the door body is formed in the case. The first cylindrical portion and the second cylindrical portion are engaged so that a small gap is formed between an outer peripheral surface of the second cylindrical portion, and an inner peripheral surface of the first cylindrical portion and an end of the seal member.

  • Patent number: 6001457
Abstract: According to the present invention, in a casing having a casing member made of resin and a porous elastic member affixed onto the casing member, there is formed a thick wall portion, which is thicker than the other portions, at a bending corner portion formed between wall surfaces of the casing member. In this way, when the resinous casing member is molded, the resin in a melted state flows along a surface at an opposite side of the elastic member (at a side of an affixing surface between the casing member and the insulator), in a space for forming the thick wall portion. Therefore, the resin in the melted state is prevented from flowing to press upward an end portion of the elastic member at the corner portion. Accordingly, the defective "reversing" is prevented so that the elastic member can be affixed on the wall surface of the casing member satisfactorily.

  • Patent number: 5851633
Abstract: Packing is fixed to and adheres to a molded damper on the outer periphery of the both sides of the damper body like a frame. To prevent defective molded products, a portion of the damper body having the packing disposed thereon is made thicker than a portion without the packing so that resin can flow into the portion where the packing is disposed before it goes into the portion without the packing.

  • Patent number: 5690881
Abstract: The present invention relates to a manufacturing method for a damper which is effective when used for a car air conditioner as a air flow switching door.A resin damper body to which surfaces foaming resin seal materials are joined is formed by setting the foaming resin seal materials within mold spaces beforehand and then injecting the resin thereinto, and during which process the damper body and the seal materials are joined together. Particularly, the structure of the metal molds, the structure of an injection nozzle, and the shape of the seal materials are improved in order to improve the shape of the seal materials and the shape of the damper body during the injection molding.
