Patents Assigned to Shin-Etsu Chemical Col, Ltd.
  • Patent number: 6214930
Abstract: In a process for preparing a one-package RTV organopolysiloxane composition comprising (A) an organopolysiloxane containing at least two Si—OH groups or hydrolyzable groups, (B) an organosilane having at least two hydrolyzable groups or a partial hydrolyzate thereof, and (C) an inorganic filler, components (A) and (B) are premixed in a substantially anhydrous state, and component (C) is then added to the premix. Despite the absence of sag-control agents, the composition in the uncured state has a sufficient viscosity for sag-control, ease of extrusion, and improved slump properties.

  • Patent number: 5961695
Abstract: A silane-containing gas is treated by contacting it with a liquid containing silanes or disilanes which are higher boiling than the silanes in the silane-containing gas, thereby easily removing or reducing the amount of silanes in the gas and enabling the recovery of these silanes.

  • Patent number: 4954596
Abstract: A process for manufacturing an organic silazane polymer which comprises: reacting ammonia with a mixture of organosilicic compounds (I) and (II) wherein R is a methyl group, an ethyl group, or a phenyl group, and R.sub.1 is a hydrogen atom or a vinyl group, and X is a chlorine or a bromine atom; then polymerizing the thus obtained silazane compound in the presence of an alkali catalyst. A process for manufacturing a ceramic fiber which comprises melting, spinning, and rendering the organic silazane polymer infusible and then baking the same is also disclosed, as are improved silazane polymers and ceramic articles made therefrom.
