  • Patent number: 6992600
Abstract: A method for configuring button keys on a membrane includes the steps of: mapping the membrane under the conditions of without jumping and without generating ghost keys; gathering adjacent button keys on a same cluster; defining a button key configuration chart according to each cluster; and linking circuits of each button key in each cluster to a flat cable of the membrane. Then defining total number of various composite keys; locating the composite keys to be not co-linear or cross co-linear on the X-axis or the Y-axis of the matrix scanning lines; and mapping other adjacent button keys without the jumping.

  • Patent number: 6445586
Abstract: An apparatus for a mainframe having redundant extractable devices is arranged in a mainframe of the IU specification for industrial computers or servos. The apparatus comprises a main body having at least two receiving spaces with respective openings at one end; closing ends of the two receiving spaces is arranged with a circuit board; two extractable units arranged within the receiving spaces and connected; to the circuit board; a front frame and a rear frame being installed at the main body. The two extractable units are extractable from the two openings so as to be connected to the circuit board. Moreover, the two extractable units are mounted to the main body and the main body is extractable in the computer mainframe, and thus an apparatus for a mainframe having redundant extractable devices is formed.

  • Patent number: 6426742
Abstract: A method for controlling switch of input mode of keyboard instructions is to provide and load a program to intellectualize an auxiliary keypad without forcing any of or both the keypad and a main keyboard to retain at a specified state. In other words, the program of the keypad will read the present status flag of the keypad and the main keyboard and put them in memory. Hence, when an arbitrary key of the keypad is pressed, the program will compare whether the state of the keypad and the main keyboard are identical or not; if positive, a key code from the keypad is acceptable, otherwise, a Num Lock code will be transmitted to a host frame of a notebook computer for changing the state of the main keyboard into that of the keypad for receiving a key code from the keypad. After transmission of the key code to the host frame, the program will send the Num Lock code again to the host frame for restoring the state of the main keyboard while the keypad remains its state unchanged.

  • Patent number: 6339374
Abstract: A receiving indication apparatus for E-mail located in a keyboard or mouse device for indicating E-mail being received in a computer. The apparatus includes a signal output contact located in a microprocessor installed in the keyboard and a load linked to the signal output contact. When the computer receives E-mail and notifies the microprocessor, the signal output contact immediately outputs a driving signal to actuate the load for alerting user so that user may process the E-mail immediately without the need to stare at the display screen or shut down part of the programs.

  • Patent number: 6140596
Abstract: An improved structure of tact switch comprises a seat body, a first elastic element, a press set, and a closure body. After assembling and jointing the first elastic element and the press set in the seat body, the assembly procedure is to couple the closure body onto the seat body. When the press set is pressed down by an external force, it will in turn press the first elastic element downwards to make connection between a first conductive electrode and a pair of second conductive electrodes.

  • Patent number: 5977733
Abstract: A fan control device includes a fan rotation control circuit adapted to be connected electrically to a fan and adapted to control activation and deactivation of the fan. The fan rotation control circuit generates a voltage output corresponding to driving current flowing through the fan to indicate operating speed of the fan. A comparator circuit is connected to the fan rotation control circuit and is operable so as to perform a comparison operation in order to compare the voltage output of the fan rotation control circuit with a reference speed signal, and so as to generate a logic output corresponding to result of the comparison operation. A processor receives the logic output of the comparator circuit, and controls the fan rotation control circuit to deactivate the fan upon determining that the operating speed of the fan is abnormally slow, indicating that the fan is in a near-breakdown condition, based on the logic output of the comparator circuit.
