    Abstract: A power ratchet wrench including a handle for gripping and holding the wrench and a head having a ratchet mechanism including a drive shaft capable of powered rotation about its axis. The head and handle have openings generally in registration with each other. A pin is received through the openings, interconnects the handle and head and permits pivoting movement of the handle and head relative to each other about the transversely extending longitudinal axis of the pin to any of a multiplicity of selected relative angular orientations. The pin includes a first section sized and shaped for locking the handle and head together in fixed angular orientation about the pin axis and a second section sized and shaped for permitting free relative pivoting motion of the handle and head.

    Abstract: A rotary impact tool including a generally tubular cage rotated by a motor about a central longitudinal axis of the cage. The cage has an internal wall with axially extending guide channels formed in it for receiving hammer pins capable of moving axially in the guide channels. The hammer pins have a generally flat striking surface. An output shaft mounted generally coaxially with the cage for rotation relative to the cage has radially outwardly projecting anvils having generally flat impact surfaces. A clutch mechanism intermittently moves the hammer pins to an extended position in which the striking surfaces of the hammer pins are in registration with the impact surfaces of the anvils. The striking surfaces of the hammer pins strike the impact surfaces of the anvils upon further rotation of the cage for delivering an impact to the output shaft, and then withdrawn by the clutch mechanism to regain momentum.

    Abstract: A bearing is located at the front of a frame and through means of this bearing an electrode disposed upon one side of a welding gap and an electrode disposed upon the other side of the welding gap can be positioned opposite each other upon a horizontal central axis line, so that with the electrode part upon one side of the welding gap having an electrode bit at the front thereof being movable forwardly and backwardly while connected with the bearing, an object to be welded can be gripped between the electrode bit on the one side and the electrode bit on the other side; and if the electrode on the other side which is provided with a bracket having the other electrode bit disposed at its tip, and which is attached externally to the bearing, is rotated around the electrode upon the one side, spot welding in many different positions, including upwardly, downwardly and sideways, can be easily achieved.

    Abstract: By transferring the power fed from a motor to a ratchet mechanism through means of an impact clutch mechanism, a relatively large torque is obtained by the impact clutch mechanism. In addition when a torque greater than a predetermined level is applied to the ratchet mechanism, reaction is never given to the operator's hand because the impact clutch mechanism does not transfer a force greater than the present torque to the ratchet mechanism, thus permitting safe operation. With the ratchet mechanism, moreover, it becomes possible to effect such operation as first loosening and removing by the operator's force such members as bolts and nuts which have been additionally tightened independently or strongly tightened to a level in excess of a certain torque preset for the device.
