    Abstract: A lock assembly having a short key recess for reducing a length of an ignition key for a vehicle includes, a locking lever, a stopper plate and a push rod placed in a steering shaft. Thereby, a modulation of a crush pad and an instrument panel can be easily established. As the structure and an operation mechanism of the lock assembly are improved, there are advantages in that the length of the ignition key can be reduced while it is possible to provide a convenience to a user.
