Patent number: 4831356Abstract: An automobile theft prevention device has an idle swing mechanism including first, second, and third levers. The first and second levers are coaxially coupled to each other for angular movement and connected between an engine hook lock and an engine hood lever for opening the engine hood. The third lever is actuatable by means of a solenoid for in turn moving a connecting pin loosely fitted within slots defined respectively within the first and second levers. When an automobile door is locked, the solenoid is energized so as to move the connecting pin disposed within the slots into a position where the first lever is idly movable with respect to the second lever. Thus, the engine hood cannot be opened even if the engine hood lever is operated. The connecting pin can be moved back to its original position so as to connect the first and second levers only when the door is unlocked properly as by, for example, by means of a key for the door.Type: GrantFiled: August 1, 1988Date of Patent: May 16, 1989Assignee: Shiroki Kinzoku Kogyo Kabushiki KaishaInventor: Hideo Ito

Patent number: 4717204Abstract: A reclining angle adjustment device has a pawl angularly movably mounted on a lower arm, an upper arm pivotally mounted by an angularly movable shaft on the lower arm and having an inner gear, an intermediate gear plate having an outer gear meshing with the inner gear and a rack engageable with the pawl, and a release lever angularly movably mounted on the upper arm for releasing the pawl out of mesh with the rack for roughly adjusting the angle of inclination of the upper arm. The angularly movable shaft, the inner gear, and the outer gear jointly constitute a planetary gear mechanism. A control handle is rotatably mounted on the lower arm and operatively connected through the planetary gear mechanism to the upper arm in power-transmitting relation for finely adjusting the angle of inclination of the upper arm.Type: GrantFiled: April 22, 1987Date of Patent: January 5, 1988Assignee: Shiroki Kinzoku Kogyo Kabushiki KaishaInventor: Takeshi Tezuka

Patent number: 4629251Abstract: A reclining angle adjustment device for use with a reclining seat includes a pair of lock mechanisms adapted to be disposed respectively on the outer and inner sides of the reclining seat. Each of the lock mechanisms is capable of rough adjustment of the angle of inclination of the second arm with respect to the first arm, and of fine adjustment of the angle of inclination. The reclining angle adjustment device also includes a pair of hook plates coupled respectively to release levers of the lock mechanisms, a connecting pipe extending between and attached to hook plates for transmitting motion between the release levers, and a connecting bar inserted through the connecting pipe and coupled to angularly movable shafts of the lock mechanisms for transmitting motion between the angularly movable shafts. The connecting bar includes ends having serrated inner peripheral surfaces defining recesses.Type: GrantFiled: April 29, 1985Date of Patent: December 16, 1986Assignee: Shiroki Kinzoku Kogyo Kabushiki KaishaInventor: Takeshi Tezuka

Patent number: 4615551Abstract: An apparatus for positioning the backrest of a vehicle seat to facilitate an occupant's entry and exit from the vehicle. The apparatus includes a seat frame mounted on the floor of a vehicle and a backrest frame pivotally connected to the seat frame. A pawl member releasably engages the seat frame from teeth on the backrest frame and is controlled by an operating lever to adjust the pivotable position of the backrest. A support member slidably positions the seat frame along the vehicle and includes a pair of spaced lower rails and a pair of complimentary upper rails slidably mounted on the lower rails. A locking device mounted on the upper rail prevents sliding movement between the upper and lower rails. A cable means extending between the backrest and the locking device releases the locking device to enable sliding movement between the upper and lower rails when the backrest is pivoted beyond a predetermined position.Type: GrantFiled: June 27, 1984Date of Patent: October 7, 1986Assignees: Toyota Jidosha Kabushiki Kaisha, Shiroki Kinzoku Kogyo Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Eiichi Kinaga, Masanori Sakai, Masaaki Tanno

Patent number: 4541672Abstract: A reclining angle adjustment device including a pair of locking mechanisms provided at either side of a seat. One locking mechanism cooperates with the other by means by connecting mechanism which includes a play therein. Thus, movement caused by one locking mechanism is transmitted relatively delayed to the other locking mechanism thereby preventing the locking mechanisms from being half-locked based on inconsistency of parts.Type: GrantFiled: December 20, 1982Date of Patent: September 17, 1985Assignees: Toyota Jidosha Kabushiki Kaisha, Shiroki Kinzoku Kogyo Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Kinsho Fukuta, Makoto Kanamaru

Patent number: 4538856Abstract: A reclining angle adjustment device used to obtain best inclination of a reclining seat for passengers, including a seat back arm fixed to a seat back portion, a base arm with an internal gear connected with the seat back arm through an axis, a stopper, a regulating plate, the first control lever and the second control lever. For rough adjustment, the first control lever is inclined forwardly or backwardly by a passenger on seat so as to disengage the stopper from the regulating plate. For minute adjustment, the second control lever is repeatedly moved round upwardly and downwardly so as to roll a pinion in the internal gear provided in the seat back arm.Type: GrantFiled: September 20, 1982Date of Patent: September 3, 1985Assignee: Shiroki Kinzoku Kogyo Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Naoaki Katsumoto, Hideyuki Ohshiro, Masanori Sakai
