  • Patent number: 4767282
Abstract: There is described a fluid pressure booster including a pair of cylinders connected to the opposite sides of a central partition wall of a casing with an inlet port, an outlet port and air exhaust ports, a pair of pistons reciprocable in the cylinders and defining a boosting chamber and a drive chamber in each cylinder, and a switch valve adapted to supply a line air pressure alternately to the drive chambers of the two cylinders, thereby reciprocating the pistons to intensify the fluid pressure in the boosting chambers. The switch valve of the booster is provided with a spool stall preventive means which is arranged to suppress the pressing force on the valve body of the switch valve with the fluid pressure or biasing action of a spring until the valve body reaches the neutral position thereof and to encourage the pressing action on the valve body with a biasing force after reaching the neutral position to prevent stalls of the valve body at that position.

  • Patent number: 4728077
Abstract: A drainage valve unit for use with a casing for collecting a drain includes a valve body adapated to be mounted on the casing and having a fluid passage and a chamber defined therein and communicating with each other, a valve member disposed in the fluid passage and movable axially of the fluid passage for opening and closing the fluid passage, and a pusher body disposed in the chamber and movable axially of the chamber, the pusher body being displaceable from outside of the valve body for causing the valve body to open the fluid passage to discharge the drain from the casing through the fluid passage. The valve member can reliably be moved to open the fluid passage for discharging the drain by pushing the pusher body irrespective of the pressure within the casing. When the fluid passage is opened, the drain can quickly be discharged without falling on the operator's hand and fingers.

  • Patent number: 4726283
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a slide cylinder basically consisting of a cylinder block internally defining a plural number of intercommunicating cylinder bores in parallel relation with each other, a piston and a piston rod fitted in each cylinder bore, and plate-like cross members integrally connecting the respective piston rods at the opposite ends thereof. The drive chambers defined by the pistons are communicated with fluid supply/discharge ports at the opposite ends of one of the piston rods and one of fluid supply/discharge ports provided in the cylinder block, permitting a diversity of piping modes by selective use of these ports. When installed upside down, it is possible to move either the cylinder block or cross plates whichever is desired. The slide cylinder can transfer loads accurately without involving rotational motion. Fixing of a piston against a piston rod is by means of caulking the ends of cylindrical portion of a piston at fixing grooves of a piston rod.

  • Patent number: 4722360
Abstract: A fluid regulator including, in a housing, a nozzle flapper mechanism, a diaphragm displaceable by the nozzle back pressure of the nozzle flapper mechanism, a valve body for controlling fluid communication through a fluid passage in accordance with displacement of the diaphragm, and a sensor for picking up a change in output fluid pressure from the fluid passage as a change in an electric signal. The nozzle flapper mechanism includes an electrostrictive element positioned closely to the nozzle of the nozzle flapper mechanism. Displacement of the electrostrictive element with respect to the nozzle is controlled by a differential signal resulting from comparison between an electric input signal and an electric signal from the sensor. The nozzle back pressure is varied dependent on the displacement of the electrostrictive element for thereby displacing a valve body in the fluid passage until the valve body is brought into equilibrium.

  • Patent number: 4718451
Abstract: An improvement to reduce the size of a directional control valve by providing a plurality of pilot spool valves in a single valve casing. A plurality of valve mechanisms are juxtaposed in a monolithic valve casing by individually inserting valve members in a plurality of parallel valve bores provided in the valve casing. A plurality of cylinders corresponding to the valve bores are pierced in an intermediate plate mounted on the valve casing from that face which comes in contact with the valve casing. The cylinders communicate with each other by means of grooves cut in the aforementioned contacting face and open into the atmosphere through a relief port. The adjoining cylinders are thus brought closer, and the valve bodies are driven by pilot fluid pressure that act on the pistons fitted in the individual cylinders.

  • Patent number: 4700611
Abstract: A cushioning mechanism in a pneumatic cylinder utilizing a supplied air pressure, and a method of cushioning a piston in the pneumatic cylinder. Cushioning chambers are provided at opposite ends of a cylinder body of the pneumatic cylinder. Respective differential pressure valves and relief valves are provided between each of the cushioning chambers and an air supply. A cushioning member is disposed between each cushioning chamber and a cylinder bore. Air supplied under pressure from the air supply is stored in one of the cushioning chambers. When the piston is displaced to push the cushioning member, the air in the cushioning chamber is compressed to cushion the piston. As the cushioning member is moved a prescribed interval, the cushioning chamber is vented to atmosphere.
