    Abstract: A roll for use in processing crop materials in a crop processor apparatus is disclosed. The roll has a generally cylindrical cross-section and a plurality of alternating longitudinal ridges and longitudinal grooves on a surface of the roll. The longitudinal ridges having outer edges interrupted by gaps between the ends of the roll, forming tooth segments between the ends of the roll.
