Publication number: 20090328171Abstract: Secure remote storage of electronic media. A virtual safe application resides on a server and provides for encrypted storage, display, and access to critical electronic media. The virtual safe communicates with trusted entities, which can automatically populate the virtual safe with pre-selected types of files into pre-selected locations. A user can access the virtual safe over a network to customize the display, manage files, upload files, and/or share files. Sharing a file grants selected access rights to a selected file by another authorized user. The shared file is displayed on the interface associated with the other authorized user, allowing the other user to view the file and to perform functionality consistent with the access rights. The sharing capability facilitates communication for use in streamlining business and/or personal matters. The virtual safe thus provides access to documents anytime, anywhere, while ensuring security, facilitating communication, and eliminating manual steps.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 23, 2008Publication date: December 31, 2009Applicant: SI CorporationInventors: Victor A. Patent number: 6559207Abstract: A flame resistant composition comprises (a) a polymer; (b) a synergistic mixture comprising(i) from about 0.6 to about 3 percent of a non-halogenated flame retardant compound; and (ii) at least about 0.06 percent of a compatible additive; wherein said percentages are based on weight percent of (a) plus (b), wherein (a) plus (b) equals 100 percent. A method of rendering a polymer flame resistant comprises compounding said polymer with a synergistic mixture comprising (i) from about 0.6 to about 3 percent of a non-halogenated flame retardant compound; and (ii) at least about 0.06 percent of a compatible additive; wherein the percentages are based on weight percent of polymer plus the synergistic mixture, and wherein polymer plus synergistic mixture equals 100 percent.Type: GrantFiled: March 14, 2000Date of Patent: May 6, 2003Assignee: SI CorporationInventors: Larry English, Courtney Tyvand, Kevin Kirkland

Patent number: 6550362Abstract: An apparatus (25) for transporting pre-measured quantities of fibers in a plurality of containers (13), separated by a plurality of webs (14), joining the containers together at spaced intervals, to a mixer (22) for cementitious materials, the apparatus comprising a conveying assembly (26), the containers therethrough; a counter assembly (28); a web slitting assembly (29); and a process controller (30), which activates the web slitting assembly in response to input from the counter assembly, in order to sever a determined number of the containers from the webs for conveyance into the mixer. A method for conveying pre-measured quantities of fibers suitable for the reinforcement of cementitious materials to a mixing apparatus is also provided as well as a train for providing pre-measured quantities of fiber comprising a plurality of containers containing the fibers; and a plurality of webs, joining the containers together at spaced intervals.Type: GrantFiled: October 25, 2000Date of Patent: April 22, 2003Assignee: SI CorporationInventors: Melvyn A. Patent number: 6122312Abstract: An apparatus for accurately transmitting and receiving acoustic waves indoors is provided. The apparatus contains a microphone, a speaker, a processing circuit, a first amplifier, a second amplifier, and a power control circuit. The microphone converts an input acoustic wave into an electric signal, and the speaker generates an output acoustic wave based on input data. The processing circuit processes the electric signal to produce processed data and outputs the input data to drive the speaker. The first amplifier receives a power signal and detects if a starting signal is contained in the electric signal output from the speaker. Then, the amplifier outputs a first detection signal when the starting signal is detected and outputs the power signal when the first detection signal is output. The second amplifier receives the power signal from the first amplifier and detects if a non-starting signal is contained in the electric signal when the starting signal is detected.Type: GrantFiled: November 19, 1999Date of Patent: September 19, 2000Assignee: SI CorporationInventor: Shirai Shiro
