  • Patent number: 8959915
Abstract: A waste heat steam generator for a gas and steam turbine power plant is provided. The generator has economizer, evaporator and superheater heating surfaces which form a flow path and through which a flow medium flows. An overflow line branches off from the flow path and leads to injection valves arranged downstream at a flow side of a superheater heating surface in the flow path. The overflow line permits a brief power increase of a downstream steam turbine without resulting in an excessive loss in efficiency of the steam process. The brief power increase is permitted independently of the type of waste heat steam generator. The branch location of the overflow line is arranged upstream of an evaporator heating surface at the flow medium side and downstream of an economizer heating surface.

  • Patent number: 8964597
Abstract: In a method for exchanging routing messages in a wireless meshed communication network with network nodes and a root node, a routing tree is set up with data transmission paths. The root node sends routing requests at regular time intervals to set up the paths, wherein a request contains a specification for a first bidirectional path mode or a second unidirectional path mode. At a respective node, a first field is used to indicate a first or a second node state. If, upon receipt of a request, the first field is in the first state, a routing response is always sent and otherwise not. Next, the node checks the mode specified in the request, ensuring that the respective mode is set. In case of a node to root data transmission, a node also ensures that the first field of the respective network node is in the first state.

  • Patent number: 8965084
Abstract: A method for modeling blood flow through a flow diverter includes receiving a medical image containing blood vessels. Vessel geometry is extracted from the received medical image. Inlets and outlets are tagged within the extracted vessel geometry. A desired flow diverter is selected. A model of the selected flow diverter is generated within the imaged blood vessel, the model representing the flow diverter as a tube having a porous surface characterized by a viscous resistance and an inertial resistance. A course of blood flow though the flow diverter is predicted based on the generated model, the extracted vessel geometry, and the tagged inlets and outlets.
