  • Patent number: 8364240
Abstract: At least one example embodiment relates to a method and/or a device for automatically differentiating types of kidney stones using computed tomography. The method provides two image data records of two computed tomography pictures of an object area including the kidney stones that have been recorded in the context of a different spectral distribution of the X-radiation. For each voxel of a slice of the object area that has X-ray attenuation values typical of kidney stones there is calculated from the two image data records a ratio r that is yielded from X-ray attenuation values of the voxel and prescribed X-ray attenuation values of pure urine in the context of the different spectral distributions of the X-radiation. The respective voxel is assigned to one of at least two types of kidney stones as a function of the variable r.

  • Patent number: 8031705
Abstract: A bus interface unit is provided for intermediate switching in a two-wire current loop, wherein the bus interface unit has a transformer for potential-free decoupling of an alternating current signal modulated with digital receive data and/or for coupling in of an alternating current signal to be modulated with digital send data. The alternating current signal is modulated onto a direct current signal of a two-wire current loop. The bus interface unit has a bidirectional modem unit connected on the secondary side to the transformer for output of the receive data on a data bus and for input of the send data from the data bus. The transformer has two primary windings, which are interconnected such that the magnetic fields generated by the two-wire loop current flowing through it cancel each other out. A lowpass and/or a highpass filter for the alternating current signal is connected upstream from the at least one primary winding.

  • Patent number: 7561929
Abstract: A method and system for controlling an industrial controller based on technology objects are disclosed. Technology object types may be loaded and instantiated into the run time system of a controller, thereby increasing the functionality and providing technological scaling of the controller. Technology object types may be loaded in the form of technology packages and a user may use the functionality of the invention directly in a user program.

  • Patent number: 6824351
Abstract: A method and a device are for cooling the inflow area of the shaft of a steam turbine. According to the method and device, a partial mass flow m1 is branched off upstream of a feed device that supplies the steam to the team turbine. The partial mass flow is cooled and then guided to the feed device, from where it is supplied to the steam turbine together with the remaining mass flow m2. The method and device allow for a simplified control and design of the turbine.
